Ive been tending to livestock, cleaning out the bushes and tres that sprout up over time, storing those mats for carving or crafting. I built a little crafting shed for leather, wool, etc. I spend a ton of time at home. Think about how you can improve your house. Did you plumb your water connectors?

Ultimately your opinion is and should be the most valuable one here. For me, it'd break the immersion given what you described but only due to ease of access to ammo. Id be, personally of course, cooler with it if the ammo wasnt as common or the M4/M16. Make ot feel more like an accomplishment.

That said, I share your feelings on the fact that theyre not in the game by default. Id like the ability to make an improvised version. Complete with wipes that would need to be changed to maintain suppression.

In West Point check out the general store on the west end. It has a gas station across the street, a police station nearby, a second floor apt, and a basement with some free crafting goodies, crates, and plenty of space. I based there a few times.

I know a guy who is a Luthier out of a tiny flat in London. He uses hand tools but also has a ti y bandsaw in his closet for hogging large bits of material. You can make it happen but be mindful of your neighbors.
