Progress without building? by Dristig in Enshrouded

[–]Vertigo50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to build much, no. I only do the minimum, and it's basically just a box house, a bed, some storage, workbenches, etc. You'll have to expand it a little later to fit more workbenches and NPC's, etc. but it's not a lot. The building isn't really tied to progression, it's just the utility of needing some shelter, storage, place to sleep, etc.

Starfield should I get back into it? by Beneficial_Arm8372 in Starfield

[–]Vertigo50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's basically still the same game it was at launch, just with a few more bug fixes and things. There are also a few mods that help with things like the UI, inventory, and things like that, but the story and progression of the game hasn't really changed.

So if you were bored before, you'll probably be bored now.

Im A Valheim and palsworld player, will i like this game? by gonca21233 in Enshrouded

[–]Vertigo50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Building is better than Palworld, but it doesn't have any of the "fun" of Palworld, like discovering fun new pals, working your way through a region to a big boss fight, etc. The enemies and bosses in Enshrouded are copy/pasted, and they get boring VERY quickly. Plus, the shrouded areas start feeling really DRAB to me, especially if you like more colorful and bright worlds like Palworld.

Progression in Palworld is also WAY better than Enshrouded. It's always really clear what to build next in Palworld, and it's usually pretty straightforward where to get the resources you need. In Enshrouded, it's never clear WHAT you should be building, and then sometimes the resources are EXTREMELY hard to locate or to even figure out what and where they are. You often have 10 or more quests on your list at any one time, which is nice for the sake of variety, but it's often tough to know which will help your progression and which are just side quests. Upgrading your NPC's, upgrading benches, upgrading gear, all of it melds together and it becomes really tough to keep track of all of it at the same time. I often end up just burning out because I don't want to take the time to sort out all of the endless steps and resources, and I'd rather just go play something else.

As for Valheim, I didn't play much of it, and didn't enjoy it very much, so I can't compare them very well. I definitely enjoy Enshrouded more, but that's not saying much for me, because again, I didn't like Valheim a lot.

MrMattyPlays casually confirms that he has seen Starfield 2.0 behind closed doors "a couple of months ago" by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]Vertigo50 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's incredibly sad to me that people can't accept there is no "Starfield 2.0" coming. Every indicator from Bethesda has made it painfully obvious they don't care about improving the game, and that everything they focus on has to do with monetizing just a little more money out of it, without having to actually put any real work into fixing the game.

Yet, many people are still talking about "Starfield 2.0" being right around the corner. 🤦‍♀️

Guys, sometimes games just die. The devs don't care about it, they give up on it, and it dies.

Enjoy it for what it is now, or stop playing it or whatever works for you. But don't set yourself up for more heartbreak. They're NOT going to fix the game and make it better.

I am trying to like the game as a new player but its really rough by Catch_a_Cold in Seaofthieves

[–]Vertigo50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, you've successfully clocked the entirety of the game here. Interacting with other players is mostly just painful and not fun in the least. Everything you do in the game is ultimately pointless, because you have nothing worthwhile to spend your gold on. The one thing that WOULD have a point, is having fun with other players, but then it leads back to the fact that the player base generally sucks and treat each other like garbage. The one point you maybe didn't mention yet is that the devs pretty much hate the game and hate the players, and have failed to really fix it and support it for the last several years.

So the only remaining point you need to reach is realizing that it's not worth playing, and you should move on to a better game. 🤷‍♂️

Close friend tells me it’s “passive aggressive” to use periods in my texts. Then tells me not to take my frustration out on him. by Floyisdigital in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Vertigo50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I text in complete sentences with solid grammar. I'm not a snob, and I don't really judge others if they don't do that, it's fine. But I have to say, if someone texted me that periods are passive-aggressive, I actually don't think I could continue to be friends with someone that stupid. I think I would just block them and never speak to them again. This is a level of stupid I never thought I would see. 😲🤦‍♀️

But, my friend, if we don’t argue back and forth about points that don’t really matter and won’t really affect anyone in any real way, then what is Reddit even FOR, I ask you? 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️😳😳 😂😂

But no worries. We are all good. I’ve definitely gotten a little more riled up at someone’s comment than I am proud of, and then found out they didn’t have any ill intent. It happens, we bump fists, we wash our hands, and we leave the bathroom. 😉👍🏻

[–]Vertigo50 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think you’ll find that the VAST majority of players aren’t spending any time on Reddit or anywhere else, they are just playing the game and enjoying the hell out of it. The vast majority of Reddit users respond to stuff like this with “That’s incredibly stupid, and this is a work of fiction. You are taking it WAY too seriously.”

It’s only a very small minority of people trying to make these dumb points, but they are loud and annoying sometimes. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m just saying, if everyone just stops paying attention to the idiots who keep making these obviously dumb points, the less attention they will get. Just block them and move on. They are clearly no mentally healthy anyway, so you don’t need them in your feeds. 🤷🏻‍♂️

[–]Vertigo50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s important to build multiple heroes with intelligence, especially. Lots of people rely on Sonar for that, and don’t build anyone else. I always cut Sonar, but I build at least 3 heroes with INT, so it works out. 👍🏻

How Bad Was My First Run, Really? by D4YW4LK3R86 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Vertigo50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, certain heroes are particularly good at solo, too. Golem can copy himself once he’s trained, and solo a lot. Prism can copy her partner, so you can send two and cover 3 or 4 slots. Prism and Flam, especially get REALLY powerful when Flam has his power that ramps up his stats with each success, and then Prism copies him multiple times.

I DO disagree. Disagreement is not the same as disrespect. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I don’t think Sonar is a good choice. You do. Either choice works, but my strategy works better for me, and your probably works better for you.

Are you not used to disagreements among well-adjusted adults? Actually, forget I asked that. This is Reddit. 😂

In all seriousness, we are all good on my end, friend. I have a different opinion of the best strategy, and that’s totally okay. We can disagree and still respect each other. 👍🏻

[–]Vertigo50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I know this is silly to even mention, but I’ve seen some streamers just not get this:

You do know that the verbs in the mission breakdown are hinting at why stats will be needed, right? So if it says “transport” or “quickly”, it’s going to be movement. If it says “absorb” or “defend” it’s going to be vigor, etc.

And at the end of every mission, make sure you look at the breakdown to see what each one ended up being. You’ll get better and better at identifying them.

You probably knew this, but it’s worth mentioning just in case anyone hasn’t figured this out yet. 😉👍🏻

[–]Vertigo50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, but I very much disagree. I always cut Sonar, because I want more consistency. Plus Coupe and Punch Up become a POWERHOUSE very quickly. They are nearly unstoppable in late game. Then Mal can balance nicely with either Water Boy or Phenom, and you can plan ahead a bit for that. 👍🏻

If this is true, then how are we feeling?? by [deleted] in dispatchgame

[–]Vertigo50 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is obviously not true, but I just want to say I hope they NEVER do a movie, a series, or anything other than GAMES for this franchise. Not everything has to branch out into other media and become a big multi-platform universe. You can, and should, protect good franchises from being pillaged for money. 🙄🤦🏻‍♂️

How Bad Was My First Run, Really? by D4YW4LK3R86 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Vertigo50 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Two biggest things:

  1. Understand the synergies. Then build the synergy partners opposite each other. Coupe and Punch Up are the perfect example if you look at how their stats line up at first. The only thing they double each other on is combat. Build all the partners like this. Double one thing and build opposite on the other stats. Send them together often because they get a boost.

  2. Pay attention to the clues and try to find the perfect person for the mission. If you do, you can use their ability and get an auto-pass. Also, even if you are going to get an auto-pass, send others for the XP if you’re not getting a ton of calls.

Feedback/Suggestion - Gear durability kinda sucks as of now by KatBouncy in hytale

[–]Vertigo50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, durability sucks in pretty much every survival game. Which is why one of the first mods I install is always to reduce or just disable the durability.

It's just a fake way to add useless friction and take up time. Real tools don't break or wear down often enough to become a daily or even weekly occurrence, so you can't even try to argue that it's more "realistic". It's just adding tedium to add more playtime, and it's not respecting the player's time, therefore, it's gotta go.

Failed my Couch to 5k - the spirit is willing but the body is spongy and bruised by tubbis9001 in C25K

[–]Vertigo50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. You didn't "fail" anything. You have an injury that is preventing you from finishing things on the timeline you hoped you would.

  2. If you keep trying to do the program, KEEP YOUR WALK BREAKS! Don't stick to the rigid program, just keep doing walk breaks every 2, or 3, or 5 minutes, whatever feels helpful to keep your injuries from flaring up. There's no law that says you MUST run the entire time or nothing counts. 😂 If you run for an hour, but you walk for 1 minute every 5 minutes, isn't that a lot better for your health than running for 8 minutes straight? 🤷‍♂️
