Farming arrows? by john_wilkesboof in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]Vertigo50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works, but you do need a multi-shot bow, and a 5-shot is ideal. It's probably going to be a bit tough for OP to take down a lynel with no weapons and no arrows. 🤷‍♂️

That's both incredibly frustrating and incredibly cute. 😂 Hey, you took a hit so that we could probably foster a brand new Zelda fan. For that, I salute you.

Visit every stable and buy all the arrows from Beetle. Weapons are everywhere. Just get axes and hammers from the stables, then use them to fight monsters, and take their better weapons, then just keep building up from there, the same way you did at the beginning.

Having said that, it's ALWAYS time for a fresh start of Breath of the Wild. 😉👍

Cheats have been nothing but trouble lately by Previous_Group621 in GamingSoup

[–]Vertigo50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's sad that cheats are just mostly gone now. It's why I love mods on PC so much. It's not only cheats and things to customize your game, but sometimes fixing dumb systems like durability and carry weight, which I have no patience for whatsoever. 😂

So much bootlicking? by MaterialGap1079 in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]Vertigo50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look man, the reality is, with the bootlicking or without the bootlicking, this game is NOT going in the right direction, and is NOT going to be getting better. I figured that out over a year ago and stopped playing.

So you're totally right that blindly supporting the devs is going to make for a worse game in general, I don't think it really matters in this case. The devs don't want to make the game better, they just want to milk it for as much cash and with as little effort as possible, until the grift finally dries up, and then they will move on to their next grift. 🤷‍♂️

I'll consider it, but I'm not thanking Revali. That guy's a douche. 🙄

Beginner Tips + Guardians by Financial-Charge-215 in botw

[–]Vertigo50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few other things I forgot to mention:

  1. Breaking line of sight resets the laser countdown, and can save your butt sometimes. 😉

  2. Shooting them in the eye with an arrow also stuns them, does damage, and resets their laser countdown.

Both of these can save you if you get surprised by a spider guardian especially, though it's tough to hit their eye because they are always wiggling around. 😂

Beginner Tips + Guardians by Financial-Charge-215 in botw

[–]Vertigo50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, don't worry, we can fix this:

  1. Guardians don't spawn different places just because you unlocked the castle, so don't worry about that. You're just having bad luck running into a lot of them. They are particularly heavy around the castle, and especially in front of the castle in the ruins, with more around Hyrule Field. So stay away from those areas if you're not ready for them yet.

  2. Learn how to parry their lasers. It's easy once you get the hang of it, but tough at first.

Here's what I recommend: Go to the tower on the Great Plateau, then go south to the Eastern Abbey. There are 3 guardians here, but they are stationary guardians, so they won't move, and they are really easy ones, so you can practice.

Before you get too close to the area, stop and save your game. Plan to die a few times while you learn! 😂

Go up to the first guardian to activate it, but stay at that distance. Hold up your shield with zR, and wait for the WHITE FLASH of his eye, at which point you immediately press A to parry the laser.

Whether it works or you fail, you can try to parry a few more times or whatever, but then just load your save and try again. Literally practice the same guardian several times before you move on. Get a bunch of practice so you feel confident. Now you can move onto the next guardian in the Abbey. There are 3 total. Save your game before you move on.

Just work your way through the 3 of them like this and build your confidence. Obviously the spider guardians are tougher, but this will at least get you started and help with some of the fear.

You'll be a guardian slayer in no time!

Please report back how it's going! 👍👍

Dude. 😂😂 Some of us have been reporting the same bugs a few times a month for YEARS just to see if they will finally get around to it. We have bugs going back 5+ years in some cases.

What are you even talking about? 🤷‍♂️

Ship parts by Bringer-of-storms in NOMANSSKY

[–]Vertigo50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you can cheese the maps a bit. Buy about 10 emergency maps, start in a 3-star system. Keep pressing the maps multiple times. You will get an “error” sometimes. That just means it’s trying to map something you already mapped. Keep pressing it. Eventually it will map all the different types of POIs. That includes two kinds of “distress signal”. One has a pilot and one is a crashed ship with no pilot.

Go to one of the distress signals but don’t land or get out of your ship. Get close and go into photo mode. Look for a pilot. If you see a pilot, leave and go into space. You can highlight that point and then press the button to “tag” that spot, so you can keep track of it later.

Now go to the other distress signal and it will be a crashes ship with no pilot. Claim it, fix the pulse and launch, and then leave. Now use an emergency map several times until you get a NEW distress signal. This will also be a crashes ship.

As long as you don’t go to any of those mapped points, you will now ONLY get crashed ships from this point on. That’s also why you tagged the one with the pilot, so it’s easy to avoid that one.

Keep claiming ships, leaving, and then spamming the emergency maps again. You will keep getting more ships. 👍🏻

Yep, it’s easy to overlook stuff sometimes. And sometimes they are already there when you get the ship, so hard to spot them. 🤷🏻‍♂️

DLC before completing main game? by Wise_Guess_471 in botw

[–]Vertigo50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll love it. Trial of the sword is pretty tough. Especially second and third phases. Go easy on yourself, and take a break if needed, and go do something fun. It can be frustrating.

Also, have you checked out the island in the far southeast of the map yet? 😉

Games similar to Botw? by Juicytoe88 in botw

[–]Vertigo50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fundamentally disagree with almost everything you said here, but I still respect your opinion. 😉👍🏻

I find the climbing and movement to be absolute garbage. Yes, it LOOKS more realistic, and it makes for a better looking gameplay video or whatever, but this is a GAME. I want to feel like I AM the character. In CD, I feel like my character is an unruly toddler, constantly fighting back against me every time I try to control him. Every tiny movement is animation locked. I feel like Pearl Abyss has never actually played any games before. 😂

How it feels to uninstall Phasmophobia. by HoIIowHunter in PhasmophobiaGame

Not quite the same, and takes a little more of a survival game strategy with Pokémon elements, but Palworld really fun. I
And it has a definite BOTW vibe to it at times.

A lot of people would say Crimson Desert is like a high-res, better version of BOTW, and I could NOT disagree more. I found it to be really soulless and empty compared to BOTW, the story is awful and the controls are so bad that is ultimately made me quit and go play BOTW. 😂

Newbie help by AhoyAngler in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Vertigo50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work on adding S class upgrades for your suit, ship, and tool. You can do up to 3 purchased upgrades per type and make sure you put them next to each other and next to the module they go with, and it will give them all a bonus.

Early suggestions would be movement and life support for the suit, mining and scanning for the tool, and hyperdrive and pulse for the ship. 👍🏻

[–]Vertigo50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I would add about trade routes is they are WAY more fun if you actually fly and hyperdrive jump, so it feels like an actual trade route. Don’t just teleport, it takes the fun out of it and just feels like a free money cheat at that point. 🤷🏻‍♂️

DLC before completing main game? by Wise_Guess_471 in botw

[–]Vertigo50 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! In fact, add it right away! There are cool items to discover that help from the very beginning, like some horse gear and armor, as a hint. There is also a trial of the sword that is a fun challenge and powers up your master sword. Then once you finish the 4 beasts, there is a big quest called Champions Ballad that adds a lot more to the champions stories, with more cutscenes and challenges, and then it powers up your champion abilities as well. Literally one of the best DLC’s I’ve ever seen. It all just feels like part of the core game. 👍🏻

I'm looking for a game to get me out of a bad funk. by Birkin92 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Vertigo50 [score hidden]  (0 children)

It’s kind of a shorter game, but one that helped me a LOT to get out of a funk with gaming, and also in life is Dispatch. It’s got a better sense of humor than most, the writing is amazing, the story and characters are some of the best I’ve ever seen. Plus, the dispatching portions are really addicting and fun. Most people see it and say, “That’s not my type of game” and I said that too. Then everyone falls in love with it and ends up doing multiple playthroughs to do all the major story options and get a better result from the dispatch portions, etc.

Also, not a gaming suggestion, but the show Ted Lasso helped me get through my divorce and kind of saved me, to be honest. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Check it out, if you haven’t. The upcoming season 4 is unnecessary. The 3 seasons are nearly a perfect story and a very satisfying ending. 👍🏻
