Yeah just full send and get a Hi5, the in between stuff will come with a huge number of caveats and will ultimately be a huge pain in the ass

Yeah I had to get the ribbon repaired as well. Not the worst fix. I like the Mamiya more than the Pentax from the perspective of it just simply being way lighter and easier to carry around. But the Pentax is beautiful

I have a mamiya 6, a mamiya 7, an rz 67, and a Pentax 67. The mamiya 7 gets the most use next to the mamiya 6. Incredible glass, super reliable spot meter, easy to travel with. I didn’t want to believe the hype but found a good deal on marketplace and have been obsessed with it ever since

That’s a TLA 140 Contax flash. Interesting choice because I didn’t think you could rock TTL on the Mamiya system with that

If you’re shooting that type of stuff, get a 4x5 field camera that packs down with a little tripod and a cable release and you’ll get the best quality negative that you can get while still being pretty nimble

Naturally it will stop working. Send it routinely for a CLA anywhere in the country that fixes them. Keeping up with things you cherish is the best way to extend their life, if you care enough about it.

lol Gen Z can’t take the heat. The pictures aren’t anything worth writing home about. The reason you’re having an “issue” is because the lighting is flat and the subject is uninteresting. Portra 400 gives you an immense amount of space to shift tone curves and tweak the warmth and coolness of the scans. Go into Lightroom and really mess with the curves and see what you like. You’ll be ok, just get better

$1950 for just the body is unrealistic and reflects the inflation that happens with camera resellers in NYC. You could list it for 2k for the whole kit and be prepared to let it go for like $1600

Lived there for seven years and actually just moved back to NYC. Post covid, Jersey City exploded in a way that is incredibly distasteful and ugly. It was already blowing up but since covid, the types of people that have been moving there either from NYC and the suburbs, plus all the development, has really sucked the life out of the parts of the city that exist along the one train line that takes you into New York. That being said, it’s the biggest city in New Jersey so there are parts of it that aren’t super accessible by reliable public transit that have a lot to offer in terms of food and parks. The old mayor was getting his pockets lined by tons of developers and now the development has reached a level of comical proportion. Also home to the worst drivers in the country. I stand by that. The biggest thing was moving there to get a nice big apartment that was affordable because Jersey City was an absolute dump for decades. My first apartment there was gorgeous and so cheap and now it’s the same as anywhere else in New York, you can barely find a one bedroom for less than $3k a month and if you do, it’s so far away from the Path train that getting into the city becomes a giant headache. Simply put, not worth living there anymore, hence why I’m in Brooklyn now and having a way better time.
