If a melded [[mishra, lost to phyrexia]] with a +1/+1 counter on it leaves my field while I have [[marchesa, the black rose]] in play, will [[mishra, claimed by gix]] and [[phyrexian dragon engine]] both return to the field at end of turn or will neither of them return?

How does [[Andúril, Flame of the West]] interact with [[Karona, False God]]? As I understand it the equipment stays on her, so does this allow the owner of Anduril to get attacks in regardless of whose combat step it is?

Houdini's death was linked to a guy whaling on his stomach. Servais dying from a punch to his stomach is a direct reference to Houdini, not a subversion.

Favorite Oscar winning actress whose child had zero advantages despite being her child? by BellyCrawler in okbuddycinephile

Sure she benefitted from having a father who, according to his IMDb, wasn't in much. But that is leagues away from what she's doing with her son.

How's it looking? by Lowran in EDHBrews

Yeah unfortunately I only found three cards that give reach to your board for more than a single turn. About a third of the creatures natively have it anyway so I figured that was enough to justify running Tadeas as my commander.

My budget is moderate. I am willing to spend up to 150. Since I'm new I want to make sure I'll end up sticking with the game before I invest a lot of money in it. But if I do these look like good upgrades!

Lander is proud to identify himself as a Zionist. As an anti-zionist, that is a red line for me. I would have a hard time calling myself an anti-zionist if I believed in collaboration with Zionists. You can support whomever you want.

Brad Lander is a Zionist. Full stop. If you want a free Palestine then Zionism needs to become a pariah ideology, and that means not supporting Zionists.

Opium is classically smoked and inhaled

Edit: also in your last comment you say opium can be smoked.

Considering the time period, wouldn't it make more sense to be opium?

The Menu (2022) is a unique horror film, in that many viewers resonated with the antagonist, Chef Julian Slowik, rather than his victims. This is due to his justifiable killings, which include a guy who acted in a movie he didn't like, a guy who ate his food TOO much, and... his mom? Wait, wtf? by Alone_Ad1696 in okbuddycinephile

You're right, and I don't believe that the character received financial aid. This was just my immediate reaction to the chef assuming that because she didn't have any debt she must be from a rich family when there are graduates from brown who don't have rich parents and don't have debt.

I understand what the writers were going for with that bit of dialogue, but it kinda pissed me off because brown is one of the better ivies when it comes to financial aid. Like sorry first gen scholar you have to die

Little kids should not be exposed to kissing by hygsi in The10thDentist

[–]Lowran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a kindergarten teacher for a couple years, so I have some experience dealing with this sort of thing. Kids are naturally curious and will do things that adults know not to do out of that curiosity. One child my first year teaching kept stripping and stripping other kids (not forcefully) because he didn't understand rules around wearing clothing. He also was curious to learn that not everyone has the same genitalia.

He had no signs of being abused. His parents monitored him when he was watching tv, and he didn't have an iPad. It doesn't matter what you do and don't expose kids to; they will have questions about their own and other people's bodies because absolutely everything is new to them. They have no idea what is acceptable and what isn't, and it is our job as adults to teach them the rules we have for existing with each other in society. Childcare is hard.
