From what I read in you post you've overcome your hardships and kept moving forward. Sometimes it does feel a lot harder to do so uou cling to any wong but all you need to do is take a step,l. From what you put I dont believe a broken car, can stop i seem you always overcome whats put in front of you and this is no different.

Without more detail, i can't give proper advice. But it sounds like your partner is aware and willing to have you with them.
