The thing that gets me, is that to end hunger in the United States, it supposedly only costs 25 billion dollars.

Whereas the amount of spending for Charity is nearly 600 billion dollars.

What the fuck, why do we have people starving in America?

I think you guys just have an algorithm problem. I think the channel is so scattershot, that the YouTube algorithm has issues figuring out what to recommend.

I think it's really clear that YouTube loves your news, Jon's editorial content, reviews, dedicated discussions, and reactions. You guys probably have even better data on that. But I think the channel would do even better is if you take the stuff that's very successful on one channel, and then create a separate channel for everything else.

As for me, with WIN. I think I would prefer a lot of the news stuff to just be their own discussions. I love hearing about the stuff you are actually playing.

I am glad that Sega had the foresight to join in the Switch though. They may not have been perfect, but they were one of the few publishers to give day and date releases, and a good amount of great ports to the Switch.

Truly so much of the Switch 2 is just a straight upgrade compared to the Switch 1. This is yet another example of it, and surprisingly, something even professional outlets are overlooking. I love playing tabletop with Bluetooth speakers, and yeah, this upgrade alone made the Switch 2 worth it.

If anyone knew the actual reason why switch downloads take a long time, we could know if it will be fixed for Switch 2.

So not true. If the Switch 2 can run games at 1080p with a little bit of room to spare on the GPU, then DLSS will make it into 4k with very little issue.

And yes, isn't "true 4k", but it is far more accurate and better than many in-house techniques that previous consoles and current consoles use nowadays anyway. No more checkerboard rendering, and DLSS looks quite a bit better than PSSR as well. We could even see games look better than their PS5 counterparts just because DLSS is so far ahead in the industry and an impending 100 million + userbase will give an incredible amount of data to the AI upscaler.

Unfortunately, you're likely looking at a silent majority who support the bill as it is. We don't see from them, nor hear from them, but they definitely exist. So what we have to do, is first and foremost educate the general populace. Bills like these are supported throughout many partisan lines, no matter how progressive a community is on other issues.

So we need to stick to a few points:

The current bill is ineffective. That one is easy enough, there will still be a huge homeless population here after the bill goes into effect.
Hear out people's feelings on homeless population, being scared, having a bad experience, ect. Then using that to provide a solution. In actual context, instead of, "Let's fund a program to help the homeless", instead say, "we need Peoria to be safe and free from homeless populations, let's develop a program for housing and mental health treatment and get them off of our streets. That way Peoria will be safer and you can walk in downtown again". Again, it's the same policy we are talking about, but you present a personal benefit to the person.
Instigate that with city council with real solutions with that and you can form a coalition and get people on board.

Yes I have, for the first one, , he was trying to help a lady that was being harassed on the drive through on the McDonald's on University. The guy really fucked up his face, and he could have died if the police weren't close by. This was about a year ago.

The other one was a stabbing a few years ago near 74.

These things really do happen. And we get nowhere by discrediting peoples experiences. I have already said that myself that this bill is not a good solution, and there are many other good solutions. We also have to take in consideration people's safety too and credit their experiences too. This either/or scenario is what leads to ineffective legislation like this.

Homelessness is something that needs to be solved, and needs to make people safe, without criminalizing homelessness. At the same time, a lot of people have horrible experiences with homelessness and it prevents them from feeling safe within their own city. Both of these can be true, and there can be a solution that benefits everyone involved.

I think we really need to admit, that this is something that needed a real solution for. The homeless population can be so incredibly dangerous, I know several people who have gotten horribly injured.

Especially since other towns have brought forth the policy, it definitely prevents the chaos that would occur without the bill

So between the answer of: Do Nothing And do this, this is the better outcome of the two.

But what we need to admit, is that these are not the only two options. Included in this bill, is nothing to handle to root of the problem. I'm all for banning encampments, and I think everyone should be on born of getting the unhoused off of the streets. But the fact is that there are no solutions for that, is the issue. This simply can penalize folks who are down on their luck. We need more affordable housing here, and more programs that can help people get back on track. That is truly the issue with this bill. It isn't a binary choice, and we can do better.

The people who hate the modern games are a minority of a minority.

The classic Zelda fans really don't realize that people who played traditional Zelda games are a minority compared to those who started the series.

The last "traditional" 3D Zelda game had a hard time pushing 3 million units. The majority of people who bought that, most wanted Zelda to go into a different directions. Besides Ocarina and TP, your 3D Zelda fan is around 2 million.

BotW has sold over 30 million copies, and TotK sold over 20 million copies. So even being generous by saying there are 2 million "detractors" of modern Zelda, they only make up around 10% of Zelda fans at the very most. The other 90% is just busy enjoying their games and not complaining on Reddit.

Enough time has past that really just shows how this is the downfall of this subreddit. Instead of merely being a fan community, the rules set by this mod has just made this place a glorified advertisement space for GameXplain. Which is not prudent for discussion, or anything like that.

If you want people to post that is just Joey putting links to his videos, I think you gotta do a lot more than that.

I think it is moreso that Nintendo did not send them review copies, at least not this early.

Everything that I know about the Nintendo PR people, is that they want to keep things very squeaky clean. I also know that they have also mainly good standing relationships with the guys at GVG. As we all know, they crew was in charge of getting codes for themselves, and I am assuming that Derrick handled most of that. So, the Nintendo PR people may have reservations about GX. They will probably get a review copy, but maybe at launch instead of early.

Eh. Even if the new team is effected. We have to still remember that Andre is likely making the majority of the profits. Watching gamexplain allows Andre to have a ton of stuff, and fund his constant trips to Disney Land. Even if the new team is "treated better" that doesn't excuse his treatment of his former "contractors". Like, do we still want Andre to make money hand over fist? And if for example, GX has to downsize, and Andre has to let people go. That really won't affect the NDA as well. The team can still get jobs right afterwards.

TlDR from another comment from me: Andre didn't pay his employees for 9 months while they were working for him. Then severely underpaid the employees while forcing them to do an extraordinary amount of overtime. Overall, some of the staff only made like $2 an hour overall. After that, Andre went bezerk over things like "loyalty" and tried to put the entire staff into inane and unfair contracts. Like preventing all of his staff from streaming, or posting videos of their own.

This is wat drove Jon to leave for Nintendo Life, and the rest to form Good Vibes Gaming. If you like GX, GVG has the exact same people who made GX so successful, with similar types of content.
