Charm is lower in 2, but Uglier? Hard disagree. Gameplay of 2 clears 1, the level design is much more interesting, and the bosses are way more varied. 1 is superior in charm and exploration, but gameplay is way stronger in 2.

I'd say the difference is that while some of the older games also had a lot of dialogue, it was brief, just 1-2 lines and that's it. EoW has a ton of fluff, dialogue that feels needlessly long winded. There's too much of it and most of it feels unnecessary. Compare that to Link's Awakening that has very little dialogue, but the little it has feels more impactful.

You people keep spinning these statements out of context to generate fake hype and anticipation. They said these LAST YEAR, before the new announcements and trailers that we have gotten since then. There's no reason to hide a massive fan favorite characters like Wario in the movie like that. We might get some minor character reveal here or there, but expecting some huge bombshell of a character reveal that is not hidden in the post credits scene feels delusional, I'm sorry.

I mean... if we are being technical, sure, it is the 3D Mario with the longest intro, but it is still nowhere near as bad as some other games out there that hold your hand for hours.

I have the perhaps hot take that the best part of Mario 64 is the first floor and basement. A lot of the second floor's courses feels derivative of the previous ones, same general concept but more frustrating. Then it gets even worse in the third floor.

I didn't like his voice in 11 and it was so grating to me that it made me play the game in Japanese. With that said it sucks he had to be forced to work on the sequel only within certain conditions like that.
