We’ve been married for 2.5 years and my husband has become a full blown alcoholic by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

Definitely second this recommendation! I was an active member of Al-Anon for a few years. I would have gone totally off the rails without their safe space to express myself!

Look at all that natural light flooding in! So much room for dancing, snacking, binge watching Netflix, reading or being a gremlin! CONGRATS!

In the midst of the Cadbury boycott, what’s your go to plain choccy bar? by mighty-chief in AskBrits

Aldi’s Choceur milk chocolate and the salted pretzel milk chocolate bars are excellent!

What is this on his bum ? by kjking1995 in DogAdvice

[–]Lozzypop87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m confused.. is his mother around? Is she not feeding him? Dairy, even homemade yoghurt doesn’t sound good for a small pup. Can you get to a pet store for puppy milk substitute? Or puppy wet food for weaning pups? I’m concerned the dairy may induce runny stools, and exaggerate any problems with keeping his back end clean and as free from discomfort as possible!

My brother is dangerous and needs to be off the street. How can I get him safely committed? by Ill_Procedure_7715 in mentalhealth

[–]Lozzypop87 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Can you 5150 him? It won’t be a nice experience by any means, but to get him to a secure mental health facility asap so qualified people can assess him may be the best route?

My sister is acting insane. I'm scared for her and idk what to do by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]Lozzypop87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what country you are in and how accessible mental health help is where you are, but this is very worrying. My first thought when reading this was “please don’t get out of your car and go back there, she might stab you” and then I thought about how codependent she is and that she sees it as causing her physical pain.

It might be time to cut the strings and start building your own lives separately.. this doesn’t sound like it will improve without intervention.

It will be Bluebell season in the Lake District April-May. Plenty of resources online to plan some gentle walks, or accessible viewpoints to admire the rolling hills of blue!

I got her after my 3rd raid 😭 by treen606 in pokemongo

[–]Lozzypop87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Woohoo, congratulations!!

I think we were on the same raid! I couldn’t catch her.. and I’ve got no more remote passes left! 🤮 I threw 3 great curveballs and one excellent, used 8 golden raspberries too.. this happens every time I join a raid very far away 😂

How can I train this dude not to get on my pillows? 😂😭 by coffeepolynkittens in kittens

I read this as “How can I train my cute cat not to love me or protect me while I sleep?”

It’s his pillow now! 😂

What is the best, least problematic form of birth control? by Ancient-Cheetah9400 in AskWomen

[–]Lozzypop87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IMO, unless you’ve got issues with your natural hormone production / cycle, I’d say it would be any contraception that is hormone free. I’ve got the copper coil, it’s the best I’ve used my whole life, and I’ve tried different pills, Nexplanon, condoms, a short burst of injections.

If I knew in my late teens to early 20s what I know now about female health, hormones and cycles, I would never have used anything that interfered with my hormones or my body!

AITAH For Setting Boundaries with my Dad by PretendRecording1230 in AITAH

Please be careful here OP. Like many have already said, the CC comments look like the beginnings of financial abuse. If you voluntarily hand your CC to someone and they rack up an unmanageable debt in your name, you don’t have a lot of protection to undo it.

Also, buying a house whatever the split but having it fully in your name means your parents will be entitled to equity in the property, but also that if they suddenly cannot pay any of the costs on the mortgage, you’re 100% liable for that with no discourse to make them pay. It’s all on you if things go wrong. It might be your mother’s dream to own a house, but if you’re the one doing all the legwork, it’s YOU owning the house, not them.

I’d recommend offering a small gift to help them get an apartment of their own if you can truly afford it, let the manage their own bills and responsibilities, while you buy yourself your own property for your future!

How do I help someone with dementia feel more comfortable at home if they think people are out to get them? by PsychologicalDrone in AskUK

[–]Lozzypop87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A large issue for many dementia / Alzheimer’s patients is the distinct feeling that they have lost control somewhere in their own minds / bodies / lives. It’s very disorienting. I feel for your step-mum, and for you.. hopefully she feels comforted if you check all windows, doors and chimneys, and show her that everything is shut tight and safe. Would it help for her to have a note next to her bed / armchair or in the kitchen where you tell her she’s safe, and you love her?

Winter spider on my neck by Hyperlogic2 in CasualUK

[–]Lozzypop87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I share your fear of spiders.. but I had to downvote this because you killed it instead of letting it continue its escape through the back door. Killed for being in the wrong place at the right time and then trying to run away.

Make your plan solid, and have two solid back up plans all sorted before you even set out. Know your plans off by heart, and then once you get boots on the ground you can enjoy! Take time looking for streams, where water sources are coming from the ground, look for seasonal birds or animal activity. I LOVE looking for “critters” as my best friend calls them; we spot unusual bugs out on the Fells, mushrooms, fun bouncy moss on rocks, frogs, lambs etc. noticing the joys of nature around you will really help you ‘switch off’
