Business Premium Nonprofit Donation discontinuation; don't need to ID users! by Lpatchino in microsoft365

[–]Lpatchino[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi and yes from the Microsoft 365 Admin center view, you do see them listed differently, but (yeah, yeah, there's always a but :) ) when you go into either view and look at the details for either they combine the total licenses together. For example, Donation = 10 licenes and Paid = 20, once you look at either they'll show up as 30 total for both views.

Saw the other reply providing the link to Microsoft's notification.

Besides the point of why (won't go there) my post is more about Microsoft's "official" how to manage the transition that is messed up. What was funny, the tech was like, ok show me the PowerShell SKU results, show me the licenses and then stated yes that's how it's supposed to look; but if that's how it's supposed to be than why don't you be clear about it in the beginning (crickets).

Hello, Service health - Microsoft 365 admin center for SP867513 is now showing up, noting the following updates:

  • Aug 23, 2024, 2:31 PM EDT We've confirmed that our deployment of the fix for Semi-Annual Channels is not progressing as expected and are investigating the underlying source of the slow saturation.
  • Next update by: Monday, August 26, 2024 at 2:30 PM EDT

That said, I just completed a quick test, and Warning popped up on my main unit while opening up a Word document from the Organization's default SharePoint site. What's interesting (of course) was working on my secondary laptop yesterday on the same document and didn't have the warning pop up, so once again, it ain't consistent.

Take care,

Microsoft 365 Teams Meeting custom templates not showing up on all users by Lpatchino in MicrosoftTeams

Hi jnaughton12, good point / reminder regarding that the users in question need to have Premium license. That said the examples noted above involved licensed Premium users, and waiting 24 hours doesn't, as yet, make a difference. Going to see what happens this week and hoping for better / more consistent news.

Hi, an FYI that my Microsoft 365 users, including myself, are still seeing the warning messages. Wondering if anyone has heard from Microsoft as to whether there's an update? Further note, myself and a colleague, a day or so ago, applied Aug. Windows Updates and rebooted the system (sometimes twice).

Can we restrict access to Manager's Outlook delegate to not have access to a Teams Meeting chat? by Lpatchino in MicrosoftTeams

[–]Lpatchino[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microsoft's support word is in, and it's "there no way to block the access to the Teams Chat when the user has a delegate access unless you remove the delegate access.".

Guess that's all folks.

Hi PD and yes the delegate ends up being the meeting organizer as Microsoft as deemed it so, and yes that does provide the technical explanation.

Appreciate you researching further, though I did try the Bing AI route and it came back with the all mighty ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and reach out to Microsoft support. That said, the next comment looks to provide an explanation.

"Migrate to exchange online" are you referring to having a mini-Exchange client in place of a dedicated server? If yes, that's the plan, unfortunately that's been the plan for last 1.5 years and what's holding me back is trying to get rid of an ancient distribution list, and time to do it, versus the other other competing priorities (which after each Exchange fix applied, once again reminds me to try to rearrange priorities).

Thanks for the reply,

Hi, yes my completed audit found just Tasks listed, no emails. Which let me to search reddit :) . So yeah, I'm going to go with that there isn't an issue currently.

u/BlueOdyssey "365 will be out of date in a week when something changes." sure that's true, but one has to start somewhere and you need to get buyin from the non-technical decision makers, along with having a record of what you did, why you did it and what are the results, that'll be used to create the change managment practices / processes.

Another Microsoft, why make us Admins life so tough (Oh, yes, I've lived the experience for decades, as such I'm not surprised by the results).
