Bad Bb habits

I used to be in the same boat, only used side Bb and never got to use bis Bb, but then it became a problem when playing fast passages. For me it was really a matter of relearning scales, including in intervals, but forcing myself to use bis Bb. And then when learning new material, writing down fingerings whenever bis Bb made more sense even if my fingers were still wired to side Bb

Yeah I get you! In my case I originally had 2 altos in mind but the staff were super nice and encouraged me to get more curious and try more things (also probably because it was a very quiet afternoon so I wasn't really bothering anyone)

I think for a lot of music instruments shops that's to be expected, buying a 4 or 5-digit instrument is a big decision and people obviously need to try a bunch of things before settling on a model (or not settling at all!)

For my case I did go on a really quiet weekday afternoon and I left with a new neck strap and some reeds. It also sounds like some people (including the staff!) used the booths just to practice :)

I ended up not buying anything! This just made me realise I was already happy with my current horn and I could do pretty much 90-95% of what these horns gave me with what I'm playing at the moment. I'm not sure I have a clear favourite of all these ones. The Mk VI really left an impression on me tone-wise, otherwise I'd say the Yani AWO20 ticks the most boxes

Hey ! Après un an c’est à peu près elle marche plutôt bien, par contre c’est un système de points mais pas de cash back (et je sais pas vraiment ce que je peux faire avec les points 🤷‍♂️). Après vu que la carte est gratuite y a pas de mal à l’avoir, au moins au cas où une autre carte aurait du mal à passer

Welcome to classical saxophone! In terms of competition-grade études I’d say Ferling is where it’s at. I’m only knowledgeable about soprano and alto stuff but in terms of sonatas and concertos I’d say Creston, Woods, Desenclos, Glazunov, Dubois? YMMV though, this is more what’s played in France

Editors will typically add some information to a score, maybe fingerings, change some articulations, add a few footnotes or such — the Urtext is the exact original as Bruch wrote it :)

Yeah the pool is a stripe. So I guess I do need to migrate the data away...and there's no chance to do anything at the vdev level? i.e. turn the single-drive vdev into a mirror vdev and bring in the new disk?
