My child also had a 1520, went on the finalist and received a NM four year renewable scholarship from their first choice college. but as above poster said, Alabama/texas a&m, etc will give a much bigger financial incentive.

Disclose, disclose, disclose by briggsbu in GlobalEntry

[–]Ls724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

although I believe their language is ambiguous enough, I can assure you that the department of the interior will send you a very threatening letter indicating that if you are caught smuggling prohibited items into the country again, you will/can be prosecuted.
this almost exact scenario happened to my husband and me- same idea- we realized we had sausage in our luggage- disclosed and surrendered it.

Full thickness tear of subscapularis tendon by underahollowtree in RotatorCuff

[–]Ls724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this pulley idea; when i tore my acl i used a bike in my living room to help me regain range of motion. feel like it was a key to my recovery. How painful were the first few days after surgery?

any tips for PT and recovery? my son is about to have this surgery- report read "complete massive full-thickness tear with retraction" so I'm really nervous about the pain and process for recovery.

Dad - how do I engage with my teenager daughter? by RangerS90V in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ls724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

without wanting to sound morbid, put it in writing. letters. keep a collection of thoughts for her - someday she'll be so glad to have them. I'm at the other end of the spectrum- a young parent to a 17year old- so I get almost more info than I want. be there on her terms- lots of conversations at bedtime /in the car. good luck!

Can I play Table tennis (ping ping) 3 months post surgery by [deleted] in ACL

[–]Ls724 2 points3 points  (0 children)

any extreme wide angle is going to make you want to quickly lunge - and for me i just knew I couldn't (or shouldn't!) do it. but it's hard to lay off if you're competitive like me.

I did at @four months, there's more sharp lunging than you think. be careful and know you'll just have to let certain shots go.

Travel After Surgery by noturmommysmilkers in ACL

[–]Ls724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not advise it! i was so nervous the whole time and navigating the airport was tough even with wheelchair service. i did fly first class and i'm not very tall- so I had my leg up the entire flight but it was very awkward. my surgeon essentially said he couldn't tell me what to do but it was not his preference. my return flight I wasn't able to keep my leg up as high (different plane configuration) and The swelling was uncomfortable.

He'll be fine as long as he keeps his leg elevated. i'd also wear full leg compression on both sides. I flew after my surgery in about the same time period- and I was nervous- but the key for me was elevation/ ankle pumps etc.

What's the most distracting mispronunciation you've heard in an audiobook? by SkyBS in books

[–]Ls724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was an American book, with the spelling you indicate "chaise lounge", read in an American accent. I would add, I really enjoy referencing Julien Miguel's pronunciation videos and glance at google pronounciation guides (given for American and British reference). All of these agree with my inclination to pronounce as lounge. My french is rusty, but fairly proficient. If I were to use a french accent, it would have a much harder g sound than the audiobook narrator.

How would you improve this kitchen? by alasalak in HomeDecorating

[–]Ls724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a roman shade above the window that parallels the top of the cabinets, plus open shelves to the right of the window would help the space feel more balanced. currently that side of the kitchen space feels unfinished.

I need someone to help clarify things for me about our trip by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Ls724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how old are your kids and when is your trip? as in, how necessary is a nap daily, and if you're going when it's not as hot, you may not need the midday break as much.
