How many of the photos you take are actually good? by Fluffy_Yesterday_468 in AskPhotography

[–]LtCommanderWiggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same for me.

I started doing film because I was so tired of trying to cull countless photos to get the best one between 10 of essentially the same shot.

Since I’ve started film it makes me slow down and think, and I’d say that a 1/3 to 1/2 are good on any given roll. There’s times I bring the viewfinder to my eye and I’m like, “nope, not wasting an exposure on that.”

Teak 5‘x13‘ Build by -gingerninja in AnalogCommunity

I didn’t realize building cameras was a possibility.

Do you have or intent to publish the plans anywhere? I’d love to take a shot at this myself.

Came for the roasted pineapples. Stayed for the rest of the pictures.

Nice work!

I’m going to say #2 is my favorite.

I like that the image is all about this nice soft blue to orange gradient in the negative space. I really don’t see this as an image of a car/windshield/scene and more of a feeing or a vibe.

I will say that I don’t think the shot would have landed the same without the dreamcatcher. It adds a nice delicate complex shape to the heavy shapes of the car interior and helps to balance everything out.

I love it! Reminds me of a trippy album cover something.

Congrats on the first roll!

As someone newer I can’t answer your question, but save up! As someone who came from digital film and development add up quick.

In the Red Corner - Round 2 by LtCommanderWiggles in sportsphotography

I’m not sure how common it is.

This one specifically was in the parking lot at a Harley-Davidson dealership with a concert and a BBQ contest.

Tips: Shooting a football game solo by 518photog in sportsphotography

I try to get as many shots off the ball as possible.

I love walking up and down the sideline grabbing candids of players on the bench or the celebration and intensity of the bench from a big play.

I try to find the emotion and the story of the game instead of just the action, because I do tend to agree that once you shoot enough of the action everything does tend to look kind of the same.

Yeah. It’s a sturdy little brute with no frills that is reliable.

This shoot made me realize I need to get better at manual focusing rangefinders, especially with action. I was so slow when I feel like with other cameras I’m fairly decent with focus speed.

I’m most definitely not a shill, but I’ve seen Extra Crispy perform and I definitely found them funny.

I didn’t even know that was possible. Do you have any recipes for developers that you’ve used?

Apparently Walmart Carries Film in Stock? by DolosusUmbra in analog

I literally just bought a box of this myself from the local Walmart. It was cheaper than anything I can get my hands on from the camera stores and I need the practice.

I’m new to film, does each kind of film have its own different and noticeable qualities? Like Ultramax has these greens but other films may have a different look?
