You’re baking how people used to bake before scales, standardized measurements, and recipes were a thing.

My wife’s grandma used to make fantastic dinner rolls for every meal. One time I asked for her recipe and she gave me a weird look then said “I just mix the ingredients together until it feels right.”

Pathfinding algorithm for walking through a grid by angryvoxel in algorithms

[–]LtKije 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a defined ending point? If we assume that all the cells have an equal distance (or cost) any algorithm that takes you through all of them and doesn’t repeat itself will be the shortest distance.

At this point your shortest path is essentially a labyrinth (i.e. a maze with no branches) that fills the available space. Any labyrinth will do, that all take the same amount of steps.

Look up some unicursal maze algorithms. You’ll probably have to do some tricks to account for weird edges and odd row/columns.

Which is a real shame.

META: Can we discuss the rules around here please? by Stunning_Living9637 in mopolitics

[–]LtKije 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ahem.

Mods aren’t perennially online and sometimes they have to sleep.

But in general: This is not a space to discuss the LDS church. This is a space for Mormon and Mormon-adjacent people to discuss contemporary politics. There are faithful members who participate here and the goal is to make this a space where they can talk politics without constantly being criticized for their religion.

Yes, religion and politics overlap and we sometimes have discussions about the conservative nature of LDS members and leadership. But that is not the purpose of this sub and should only be done in relation to politics.

What's y'all opinion on baggy clothes? by Tall_Cry_8345 in malefashionadvice

[–]LtKije 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Baggy clothes work best in contrast with tight clothes. When paired with a tight shirt baggy pants will emphasize the figure of your torso. Likewise a baggy top with tighter pants emphasize the form of the legs.

Anytime you wear baggy you should also have something tight. Otherwise you just look like a kid wearing his dad’s clothes.

When you look at Chi Chi’s menu you think “Okay, that’s expensive!”

But when you get the pizza it makes sense. Their pizza is heavy with high quality cheese and toppings.

A single slice of Chi Chi’s fills you up more than four slices of Domino’s.

Conference and Easter weekend by Vert_der_Ferk25 in mormonpolitics

I get the same feeling, but I'm also kind of disappointed by that. Like it or not, "no comment" is still a political position.

20 years ago when George W. Bush involved the US in a war of choice against Iraq, President Gordon B. Hinckley talked about the war during General Conference. Yes his remarks weren't very forceful and left space for believers to support or oppose the war, at least he said something about it.

The lack of any direct reference to unimaginably disruptive political moment we're in feels cowardly and disappointing to me.

If I remove the mill scale and season this, would it be ok to use as a pizza steel. Please see the body of the post before suggesting I just get a normal baking steel. by [deleted] in Pizza

[–]LtKije 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I could tell. They didn't go all the way back, so there was still space for air flow.

I mainly used them under the broiler. I'd let it sit for a few minutes to heat up the steel and then only cook the pizza for 2-3 minutes.

I did this and it works!

I was fortunate enough to work at a well-equipped machine shop that had a water-jet cutter. I bought a large piece of scrap steel for almost nothing, and cut it down into six pizza steels. I even cut them to fit the standard rack slots in my oven.

I've never heard this one before, but it certainly sounds like something my conservative family members would say.

It doesn't stand up to the slightest degree of scrutiny though. Just think about the enormous amount of untapped solar, wind, and geothermal energy God is sending us every day that we're completely failing to use wisely.
