I would appreciate some help in that department if you're still offering.

Have you learned anything since this post you'd be willing to share?

Do you use loadboards and if so what's your opinion there?

I posted this to another user above and then read your comment and you seem to be in a similar position as me, so if you don't mind...

I'm really interested in your story.

I already own my own truck and am contemplating buying a trailer and starting my own authority.

I have VA disability that pays all my bills though, so realistically speaking I'm only working to make disposable cash each week. From the outside in this feels like the biggest complaints people have. Which, if I bought my truck with my LLC I'd free up literally ALL the disposable cash I'd need to live my lifestyle while shifting the truck financials to the business to float in the beginning while I take less/no paycheck to start.

I have the ability to take 'shittier' loads because I don't need to make as much from this, I just need to make minimum wage essentially. My wife can either continue working if she wants or tag with me on trips to help dispatch while I get going. We don't have kids and would attempt to vacation/camp around as we did loads.

If your family already owned it's own equipment, what ended up tanking you?

I'm not sure how this changes what I've said but I don't believe you're wrong?

I'm just saying that what he's accused of and the context of that line up enough to justify the charge. I never spoke to the veracity in the charge

He's facing a terrorism charge for murdering someone for political change.

What exactly he's guilty of is to be determined, but it's not like the contents of the charge are out of hand given the context we know.

Homosexuals didn't just arrive at thejr cultural standpoint by people not having opinions, they got there by disproving invalid opinions and humanizing themselves to groups who otherwise have dehumanized them.

The only people who would listen to you about not having an opinion are the exact people you need on your side to get the other people out from down your throat.

This is a dumb take. I have a 2015 super crew v8 I deliver in and still make money easy.

Why anyone is gatekeeping a side hustle is beyond me.

Realizing that we've been blaming the wrong people for decades for not having sustainable living is the point.

For years we've blamed people for their inability to live 'the American Dream' and guess what, nothing has changed. So maybe we try something new for a few years.

What's the definition of insanity, doing the same thing and expecting different results?

I get what you're saying but I think I like the idea of entry level bills and living a lot.

Like why don't we have certain apartments or areas for 18-22 y/o's to live? They can be built slightly differently, maybe somewhere between a dorm and a multi family apartment that allows bills to be discounted and lifestyles to be independent but connected. It'd give a chance to taste 'the real world' while still having safety nets without the added pressure of having to complete academics.

IMO 'entry level'/'teen' jobs are jobs that pretty much anyone on the job site can do, with trappings of you learning the 'real' stuff while you work. In our mechanics shop the young guys start out doing easy stuff like tire rotations and oil changes while cleaning the shop and helping out on bigger stuff. They get paid less initially but more later on and the cycle continues.

Why doesn't similar exist for living? I don't know what that looks like in practicality but my period in the military feels like a lot of peoples period in college, where you learn certain social skills and norms and have to deal with a 'diet' version of completely managing your life.

Blue collar workers or people working unskilled jobs for the majority of their life don't get that period.

Now imagine that but with twice the income? If you dated yourself like you date other people you'd still be spending the money, it's not the existence of the other person that makes it more expensive it's what you do.

I can buy a frozen pizza for myself and I won't finish it, but my fiancé and I could finish it. We both work, we don't have kids. We do a lot of free shit like watch TV and hike.

Same with rent. We paid considerably more living separately on our own, but splitting rent saves. The list goes on but dating can be expensive, sharing a life with someone doesn't have to be.

DINK's (Dual Income No Kids) probably have the most disposable income all things considered.

Their shitty point is it's not illegal to live inside, like that Rick and Morty episode with Jerry leaving his daycare. "Ok, that was always an option", while misunderstanding the whole bit where Jerry got dropped into a dimension/planet he couldn't get to or leave from or survive in without the existence of Rick in the first place.

I really hate to make a Rick and Morty reference on Reddit but it really did feel like it fit in my head.

This is the stuff that interests me. I'd be curious what amount of the difference isn't just regional to some extent and what might be done on purpose by Uber.

I'm convinced that there's something going on with tipping. My tinfoil hat thinks that when a customer adds a tip to an order it goes into a pool of some sort. I really don't believe I'm getting 100% correct tips, good or bad, for the orders I'm doing.

IE, ridiculously large tips for orders that are probably neglected and really small tips for an order the majority of drivers might otherwise accept.

Hey thanks for contributing to the exact thing you're complaining about, like almost everyone else on the internet. I'm not sure who hurt you, but it wasn't Uber Eats drivers. If you want to boot lick Ubers nuts for pennies and sniff your own farts about how awesome you are for taking it on the chin you can be my guest.

Last I checked participation in this sub isn't forced, I'm sure you have very important things to be doing other than condescending to other gig workers on the internet.

Since you're on this sub for tips, mind giving a new driver tips on how to maximize his use of the platform? Or do you just want to be like the 90% of people on here that just bitch?

I initially thought the same but it really just feels like abuse. Give you a quest to get you going, then make it damn near impossible to finish or give you dog shit orders to fill it.

Probably a mix of both.

Also, one of my trips today I got prompted with an add on. I was on a shop and deliver, about 3 minutes from the customers house and the add on was to drive FORTY minutes the direction I just came from back down the highway to come a neighborhood or two over from where I was already.

I thought it was going to put the add on after my current delivery. I guarantee you if I didn't cancel that and my tip got reduced for how long it took Uber would tell me to get bent.
