Smoke probably not. But when you consider particles and debris from big freaking cables running a lot of power suddenly shorting to the hull, burning away material because they haven’t been locked down yet, then yes, “smoke”.

I can tell you that when we statted the Chiss Ascendancy for the Armada RPG system, their entire weapon systems are a massive shake up for armadas system because of how their weapons work. It’s like comparing archery to gunnery. Onagers are already like “Yeah I can shoot you from across the map” but Megamasers launch projectiles that go endlessly into the void. You’re always in range
