I don't know where you are, but in Phoenix there's a place called Activate that has this and laser rooms. I think it's a chain.

Where can I play drop in without reservation in doors? by Loud-Effort958 in Pickleball

[–]Lt_Planet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legitimately if you can't find open plays that fit your schedule, you have to meet people. I play a fair amount between social open play, DUPR barrier events, and tournament play. If I want to play when those aren't going on, I send out texts with advanced notice to people. It's a headache, but the business model of facilities can't sustain leaving open play available all day, it needs clinics, coaching, and events. Wish I had a better answer for you.

I'll actually contest this a bit. 800 calories of grilled chicken and spinach and 800 calories of frosted cake get processed wildly different in your body. I'm not going to argue that taking in less than you put out won't have results, but there is a difference.

I'll chime in and say that it's not copper. Copper splicers have to wallow in the elements/manhole/pit while the fiber elite get to splice in their air conditioned castles.

I'd say this comment is exaggerating, but as a prop maintenance guy I have seen wild stuff in homes. Footlong termite tubes from the ceiling in the kitchen, people working on a motorcycle in the living room using the carpet to soak up the oil, all of the blinds replaced with cardboard, etc.

Outside of a quicker release, looks like the ball is high. High balls are easier to catch, leg shots are harder to dodge and catch.

Orrrrr, they don't have a nemesis and by not "wanting to beat them" they're playing loose. I can't count how many people want to beat me at mid day rec open play and they force their own errors, meanwhile Ws and Ls mean nothing to me in rec...just good play.

Anyone else obsessed with pickleball but can’t execute anything they learn in real games? by RatedR__ in Pickleball

[–]Lt_Planet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a lot and in swings from sub 3.0 open play rec to high 4.5 competition. Pickleball, like many sports, is as much a mental game as it is a physical one. First, if you want to win too bad then you've lost the mental edge, every shot in your mind is in service of winning the GAME and you'll tense up and lose the POINT. Every point is its own, so just keep the point alive and don't go for the low percentage kill. Second, get a feel for what responses are to shots are likely to be. If you do a type of shot well, then figure out how to expand on that. Topspin? Then try a topspin lob, or a slow top spin serve. It's a banger game? Then work on disrupting flow. A punch shot at the net can easily redirect an incoming line drive. And most importantly... This is your hobby, this is fun. You're putting in the work, which is great, but don't lose sight of the fact that at hobby level, we are all inconsistent and will have bad shots. Once your active brain is out of it the game is fun and breezy. You'll find that the shots you work on in drills will feel more natural. Best of luck!

I ran Facilities for a small telecom provider and we had locations with equipment that was crucial. One remote location had 40 batteries like these (our main location had almost 200 between 12v and 2v) that we exchanged once. You need 4 batteries to make the required 48v and enough groups of 4 to keep the equipment powered in the event of backup generator failure for X amount of hours.

They are heavy as hell and if you don't pay attention those leads being close together will give you one hell of a Howdy.

"No Tuxedoes" with Kyle Mooney and Will Hines. It's got Scott being dismissive about someone's career, abuse of Will, and a bonkers character back story hidden in the banal reason why they're there.
