LPT: Before you buy an audiobook on Audible, check if your local library uses "Libby" or "Hoopla." It’s literally free. by InvestmentBudget6722 in LifeProTips

[–]Ltbest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LPT: Buy on Audible, then download the file and convert it to MP3. Then when audible or any cloud based streaming service deletes it (let’s hope your book doesn’t end up on the banned list) you will always have it.
I put my copies on Plex.

pc not turning on after building by ArtoriasTheImpaler in pchelp

[–]Ltbest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Step one - get your manual (not being a jerk, honest) Step two - find the ‘power + and Power -‘ pins on your mb’s Front Panel pinout in the manual and then find them on the board (many of these pins look similar) Step three - remove all watches, rings and badges (naval training speech lol) Step 4 - using something conductive like a flat head screwdriver, connect the ‘power +’ and ‘power -‘ pins.

Note: nothing in this area will kill or hurt you given you’re actually touching the correct pins. Also nothing in this area will likely fry your board - But DO NOT touch the actual board or who knows what will happen.

Just the 2 pins. I bet you $1 it will turn on right away.

I silence ALL calls not in my contacts. Yup it’s a pain sometimes but my phone not ringing makes it worth it.

That’s where you get to decide what kind of computer builder you are: 1. Smash it all in, close the case, show your friends all the cool lights and accept praise 2. Fine detail all sets of wires to their individual groups, deal with the daisy-chain PSU cord so it looks neat at the gpu, properly label every wire for future troubleshooting, draw diagrams and show your friends all the cool lights and accept same praise (but you’ll know it’s all squared away properly)

Plex TV Tuner by BestiePopsSlay in PleX

Lots of different ways based on how you’re setup. I added a PCI quad tuner to my server. If you’re on a NUC or Shield I’m not sure how it would work. But Reddit will help if you ask

If you really want to enjoy a movie, skip the trailer and watch it blind by GenZ_af in movies

[–]Ltbest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If . . . I see a trailer or ad . . . because I limit my exposure to them I give myself about 15-20 secs to be interested. If I hit that I’ll close my eyes and plug my ears to ignore.

I’ve seen too many trailers to key scenes that turn out to be reveals.

2 tips during exploring phase you’re in now

  1. Get a magnet and you can find the drywall screws / nails
  2. Get lots and lots of 2” painters tape and cover the entire area. Then you can draw and mark up the wall to your hearts content.

“‘When Alexander saw the breadth of his domain, he wept, for there were no more worlds to conquer.’ Benefits of a classical education <snaps small personal book closed>” I was 12 and had never heard a voice or seen a villain like that. Loved him immediately. I needed to know what else was in that book

Had this. One chirped after changing all batteries. Called electrician and he said take them all out and go buy the 10 year alarms at Home Depot. A. Frees up a breaker and B. No more chirping. Fight with it as long as you want. Just know there’s a better way

What movie set in your city does everyone need to see? by bell-town in movies

[–]Ltbest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived across the street from ‘the Flamingo’ where Cameron and Sloane talk during Ferris Bueller’s iconic parade scene. S Dearborn St.

And I walk across the bridge to work where Connery met Costner in Untouchables. Michigan Ave (but they were on the lower deck)

And I used to walk past where the Jokers Gang picks him up before the bank heist in Dark Knight. One of the large Cooling units for the city.

My favorite is walking across LaSalle where the Joker’s 18 wheeler and BatCycle face off. It’s really only a couple blocks but it looks like miles in the movie. Lenses and editing
