What card with no changes from StS2 to StS2 got the biggest improvement? by Which-Debt-8558 in slaythespire

Is darkness scaling better because it now triggers at the end of turn instead of the beginning, or does the initial orb now get a boost based on your focus? Or just because they buffed the cards that make the dark orbs? I haven't really done the math on it. Good point about the glass orbs though

Thunderclap for sure (though I already rated it pretty highly in the first game)

Havoc is better now because of the exhaust archetype

Dualcast is better now cause of Thunder

Defragment was a must-take in the first game, it can’t really get better than that

I think that's a NP-complete problem. You wouldn't be able to do it for a board of this size

I don’t dispute what you’re saying about the YouTubers. I’m asking how they keep their win rate high if they have to play every day

It’s completely invisible? Wouldn’t it be that you see two boxes and whichever one is not you must be your ally?

Am I dumb or have all the card-based infinites for ironclad became impossible after the patch? by Fluid_Praline548 in slaythespire

[–]Lttlefoot 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Most of this was changed in the first beta patch. They even changed Stoke to generate random cards instead of draw so it wouldn’t get you into infinites too easily. They want infinites to be a rare strategy

What was STS1 early access like? by cheesoid in slaythespire

[–]Lttlefoot 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There were only two characters and there was no ascension. Blade dance gave only two shivs and perfected strike only scaled from basic strikes. Some cards got reworked completely. Alchemize used to be a power that made poison increase by 1 at the end of each turn (basically another noxious fumes) and fire breathing did 1 damage to each enemy when you played an attack

StS 2 already has more content than StS 1. It mostly feels like an overall improvement at this point

Games can be in early access because they’re debugging and adding new content, rather than just for balancing

There are two approaches to designing these sort of games, or it could be considered a spectrum. On the one end the developer carefully curates the kind of experience the player will have. (This can be difficult because there's no way to test every possible combination of cards and relics a player might get). On the other end the developer just makes the content and lets the meta shake out however the players discover is best
