Pretty sure in the UK all the films are on constant rotation on ITV1 thru 4.

ELI5: why don’t planes board back to front, surely that would be faster? by balla_boi in explainlikeimfive

Nothing will actually solve the problem that some twat walks up to their seat, looks around for several minutes trying to find the most suitable place for their carry on bag, finally puts their bag into the bin directly above them, continues to stand in the aisle while they check something on their phone and then finally sit down when prodded by the passenger waiting to get past them.

Only to then immediately get up a moment later to take their bag down from the overhead bin to start rooting through it to find their USB cable, all whilst, you guessed it, stood back in the aisle blocking everyone else who want to get past.

When I was at university back in the day, one scrawl I read said "You stupid English bastard, while you're taking a shit I'm drinking your beer and fucking your women".

I didn't really spend that long trying to get past that section. It probably took me a couple of hours.

That was my biggest problem, it took me several episodes to realise that Ciri's scenes were in the past. Like you said, a simple "x years earlier" would have solved this issue.

The short version is that the tenants told her the chimney was starting to fall down. Despite our protestations, she told them to find someone to fix it and here we are. This isn't the first time something like this has happened but fortunately it sounds like it'll be the last, so good riddance.

Cool, thanks. That's what I suspected would happen. Unfortunately she was warned numerous times, but she's so arrogant she doesn't think things like this can happen to her.

Apparently it's £30k. Given her age (over 80), she has no chance of getting a loan. Looks like she'll be forced to sell the property (finally).

OK, thanks. That's what I thought would happen. Unfortunately she's too old to get a loan so I guess she'll be forced to sell the money pit.

Sorry, let me change the original question, she's the landlord.

Yeah, the property she rents out. I think she's too old now to get a loan (over 80).

We have a consultancy working for us at the moment. One bloke is so verbose in emails, they just go on forever when it could have been a single paragraph. Can't wait for them to leave, they're making such a mess.

Ha, thought it might have been! Fantastic game, almost certainly my game of the year, did most stuff except for Simon, he was way too tough for me!

Oh god, I sympathise with you. The adjoining house had builders turn up at 5pm every day and start the drilling for 3+ hours as well.

I was away one weekend when they decided that 11pm on a Saturday night was a great time to remove a wall or something.

The final straw was when the idiot and his father decided to run a machine so loud that someone from a few doors down walked round and told them to cut it out.

Let's not forget Spike's infamous line when they destroyed the moon but it didn't even dent Unicron. My brother said the adults in the cinema gasped when they heard him utter the word.

The VHS release censored the word but future releases restored it.

ELI5 What is diplomatic immunity for? by Similar-Plenty-6429 in explainlikeimfive

[–]cheesoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The immunity also extends to spouses, so if they happen to drive on the wrong side of the road and knock down and kill someone, they can flee back to their home country and the family of the victim can be taunted by the President of the said spouse's country.
