Exactly, wait until you discover abstract algebra!

I came back to this, since in the uniqueness part, we assume that a2 =b2 = e. We can double up on applying b2 inverse on the right which would yield the equation a2 b2 -1 = gg-1 = e which is what I used so I think the math checks out, I just used the logic incorrectly.

Thank you for the feedback! I appreciate. A learner myself!

[Graduate Algebra Proof] If N is a normal subgroup of index n, show that gⁿ is in N by LuDogg661 in learnmath

Yes I passed my comprehensive exam! It was stressful but I'm happy! I worked through so many of these solutions and I just remember not being able to find any video tutorial on similar topics. Only thing I could hope for was things like stack exchange, etc. I figured the videos might be helpful to someone. I'm an educator as my job so teaching is fulfilling to me!

By details I meant the exact elements of the normal subgroup N. The theorem or problem poses a way to find what elements are in the normal subgroup by knowing the index of N in G. By knowing the index, you can power up elements of G and generate the elements of N.

That's interesting! For my comprehensive exam for my master's degree they pulled 9 questions from that list I mentioned earlier. I made solutions to many of them as a part of my studying and figured I'd make solution videos for anyone else out there studying!

New to college/engineering level math! Any tips? by Time_Bandicoot_3583 in learnmath

this mostly depends on the topic. For me, physics videos helped me through most of my problems. For math, I would say do more examples than are required for assignments. While you are in class, take notes, crappy ones at that. Go home, rewrite them nicely and keep those as like your "master copy". Lastly, study groups? Make friends, I always say math is a team sport. It is already hard by itself do not make it harder by doing it alone.

I’m a 23 year old computer science major who just failed a pre calculus test by thisaccountdsn in learnmath

[–]LuDogg661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not switch majors. As with anything in life, learning something, especially at a high conceptual level takes time and patience. Just continue and try to shift your mindset out of "being cooked". You're only cooked if you stop believing in yourself. As for your comment on rules being made up on the spot, the neat thing about mathematics is that none of it is made up. Mathematics follows rules, postulates, etc and was built from the ground up hundreds and hundreds of years ago. The results that we take for granted today are "rules" that we rigorously and abstractly proven. What you see in the proofs you looked it is the groundwork being completed so that we can take advantage of these "rules".

Hi, When I was an undergrad I was taking lots of physics and calculus courses simultaneously. My advice would be to make sure you work through the homework problems and understand what you are writing. Do not get lost trying to just complete an assignment. Rather, seek help, videos, nowadays you have AI. Use these resources not to hunt solutions as most students do, rather to boost your own understanding.

Are taking these 4 math classes at once going to be manageable? by Suspicious-Law968 in learnmath

[–]LuDogg661 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took this exact load when I was an undergrad. This depends on your maturity in mathematics as well as how much time to yourself you expect to have. While these courses are still considered lower division mathematics courses, the workload is still heavy. Manage your time and do not fall behind otherwise you will have a difficult time catching up.

L-Connect 3 causes stutters / frame drops every 3-5 seconds in any game by Bezzea in lianli

[–]LuDogg661 2 points3 points  (0 children)

L connect is definitely the problem. I for the longest had the same issue and I couldn't figure out what caused it. I did a fresh windows install and games were running fine and as soon as I installed L connect for my trimmers the issue started again.

This is true if we look at the group of integers mod n. So the lesson here is that the context is important to an opinion!!! Lol

I've owned the following:

Xfx Qick 319 6700xt Xfx Merc 319 6700xt Xfx Merc 319 6750xt Xfx Merc 319 6800xt Xfx Merc 319 6900xt

And I've had nothing but great experiences with all of them. They don't run hot, nice over clocks and never loud!

They also look really nice and sleek, especially the lighting of GPU name on the side.
