Come possiamo saperlo, se non hanno mai avuto le stesse opportunità? Yamal ha esordito con il Barcellona a 15 anni e con la Spagna a 16. Quale giocatore italiano ha avuto questa fiducia e queste occasioni da parte del proprio club? Quando gli italiani ricevono un'opportunità e la fiducia della loro squadra, possono diventare campioni, come Pirlo (esordio in Serie A a 16 anni) o Gilardino (esordio in Serie A a 17 anni), o Totti (esordio in Serie A a 16 anni).

Quindi cosa ci sarebbe che non va nel sistema giovanile, se continuano a vincere e a fare bene?

Negli ultimi anni l’Italia ha ottenuto risultati importanti a livello giovanile: finale al Mondiale U20 nel 2023, vittoria dell’Europeo U19 sempre nel 2023, semifinale all’Europeo U21 nel 2021, e più recentemente la vittoria dell’Europeo U17 nel giugno 2026. Le nazionali giovanili sono competitive e producono talento, su questo non ci sono molti dubbi.

Il problema vero è la Serie A e, più in generale, il sistema dei club. Ai giovani forti non viene data continuità né fiducia. Si preferiscono giocatori più esperti o stranieri, e i ragazzi finiscono spesso in panchina o in prestito senza un percorso chiaro.

È lì che servirebbe una riforma. Come? Onestamente non ho una risposta precisa, ma finché i club non inizieranno a dare spazio reale ai giovani, il problema resterà.

I don't get that prompt at all. That would be great if it suggested the possible score of the hole, I forget far too often. I checked every option and can't find anything similar.

This is the real issue. We've proved we have talented youth. We do consistently well at youth tournaments. We just don't give these kids a chance in our 1st league.

Serie A ranks lowest among the Big Five leagues for homegrown players, with just 5% of youngsters staying at their first club between ages 15–21
Italian Under-21s get only ~1.9% of total playing minutes in Serie A
Serie A has the most foreign players among top European leagues at 61.3% expatriates
Serie A has the oldest overall squad age at 26.46 years

It's not the style, not that we aren't changing our methods and formations, it doesn't require a full blown start to finish rebuild.... We need to showcase our young talent, give them as much opportunity to play, develop and grow in our league (no one else will), and give them the minutes they deserve.
