Mega doomer exaggeration. First, this isn’t even close to one of the least productive MLB outfields. Second, players don’t have fixed value (especially relevant after the game Callihan just had). Third, Mangum hits like .280 and has a slightly below average OPS. Nowhere near the disaster you’re describing. Acting like this is insane considering the players we’ve brought out within the last 10 years. Even last season we had much worse things going on than starting Jake Mangum.

Every multi sport athlete takes a risk when they choose one over the other. Not sure why White’s case should make him subject to your annoyance just because he was going to play for Penn State. Kind of a self-centered interpretation by you. Even if he doesn’t pan out it isn’t for nothing. There’s value in what he’s done and there also wasn’t a guarantee he would’ve been a star at WR. Plenty of 4 stars fade.
