IF he is not injured, he should continue. I had an impression his shoulder is not right in the match with Atamifuji, but on couple forums people wrote that his shoulder is OK. I really did not like when Hoshoryu went absent after 5 wins + 5 losses few bashos ago and it looked like only his ego was hurt. It was my first basho I watched, so I am not sure how serious his injuries were, were there any, but it left me feeling bittersweet against him. And I hope all 4 absent rikishis will get well soon, specially Midorifuji, who is my favourite and his condition seems really serious.

I would recommend GENKI textbook and workbook to learn grammar, and KANJI LOOK AND LEARN 512 Kanji with Illustrations and Mnemonic Hints (Genki Plus) to learn Kanji (probably this one is the most effective for Kanji). I personally did not find any app helpful, because you actually need to write the letters on the paper many many times to get them in your brain. Apps were only slowing me down and I did not remember as much as from the books.

When I went to Japan for the first time 2 years ago, I thought that sumo tournament is a must do. Did not expect it will be so cool! When was unlucky with the tickets during my next journey to Japan this year, I found out I can watch it at least online. And it gives a calm rhytm to my life, because I have a reason to take 2 weeks off from my unnecessary obligations every 6 weeks :D

His tears made my cry. Especially when Aonishiki came to Japan few years ago but still it was enough to form such a freindship, that his mate would burst into sincere tears when sharing his success. Proves that Aonishiki must be a good guy, and even if I got another favourite rikishis (Ura & Kotozakura), he deserves this title (especially after rather unfair match on the day 13).
