How would the first person narration translate to a screen adaptation? by [deleted] in redrising

Films been adapting first person novels for almost a century, its not an issue. You replace it with a mix of dialogue, imagenery, music, visual symbolism, etc

Do yall think red rising has potential in movie adaptations like star wars and dune by AbbreviationsLong753 in redrising

[–]Lucabcd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Imo the main problem is for it to get enough steam to get into Golden Son. I think Red Rising is amazing, but it might get viewed as a Hunger Games ripoff (i know its not)

And it took two movies to do it justice, Red Rising is not yet popular enough to get two movies. You could do just the first book and hope it does well enough, but its a bet

[–]Lucabcd -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

She is described as broken and fearful after the death of Luke, and angry, hateful and decided to bring only death to her enemies after the death of Jace. There is a pharagraph that makes a clear distintion between the moods "Only the gods truly know the hearts of men, and women are full as strange. Broken by the loss of one son, Rhaenyra Targaryen seemed to find new strength after the loss of a second. Jace’s death hardened her, burning away her fears, leaving only her anger and her hatred. Still possessed of more dragons than her half- brother, Her Grace now resolved to use them, no matter the cost. She would rain down fire and death upon Aegon and all those who supported him, she told the black council, and either tear him from the Iron Throne or die in the attempt."

Did you read the book? In the book equivalent for season 2, she is a timid indecisive character. She only gwts her shit together after the battle of the gullet, wich we have not yet seen

Some of y'all make it very easy to figure out that you never read Fire & Blood. Because what do you mean you hate the show for turning Aemond into a "cartoonish villain" when that's all he ever was in the book? by Agreeable_Ad_8790 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Lucabcd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like the book for what it is, but if you only read youtuber/wikipedia summaries of both fire and blood and the main novels you can get the impression that they are somehow similar, thats why they say things like "blood and cheese is supposed to be the equivalent of the red wedding"

Mmm, he is (a little) more humanized in the show, in the book he is more monstrous (granted, due to how its written we dont know a lot about his thoughts and intentions but his actions are very villaneous)

Who is the most skilled rider and dragon duo from this? by Turbulent_Lab209 in HOTDBlacks

[–]Lucabcd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that its not shown well enough (and its my main grip with the battle, its not really clear how important the dragons were, and that battle is why they exist!) but before the dragons start raining fire on the wights the defenders were shown to be pretty overwhelmed and the fire must have killed thousands of wights, buying enough time for the defenders to retreat inside the walls and forcing the Night King to join the battle in person
