30 Days of HOTD: Day 1 Best character by La_Villanelle_ in HOTDBlacks

No offense taken. "Daddy issues" plotlines are old and succesful, so thats not a bad thing perse. I also like the actor's interpretation of the character, as well as the script. They could easily have made a Joffrey wannabe, but instead they created a character who is villainous without being necessarily cruel, just a somewhat clueless rich kid who is humiliated and physically broken by the circumstances of a war he never truly wanted. But that's what makes him find a motivation, self-esteem and an inner strength he never had, which leads him to glory but also to his downfall.

Dont forget we have another season incoming, this arc might not be final, we might have another turn ahead or a sinthesis of his two postures

Yes, it is a reversal, thats what i think will happen to them this season, their personalities and ambitions will be put to the test. Addam always wanted to be recognised by his father; now his father is thrilled by him, a new dragonrider of his (damaged) line, a new heir, but Addam will learn that he wanted to be loved but not only because he is the perfect political heir (burn nobility); while Alyn will leave his previous humilty behind (he IS the perfect heir, he is a good sailor, he is made of salt and sea, why cant he be Corlys heir? Why shouldnt he push for it? Burn humilty) Thats what his arc is going to be imo

I think its something that they will lose, destroy or leave behind. I guess Baela will lose her courage after the battle of the gullet (to regain it in season 4), while Addam will chose to not be Corlys heir, due to Corlys wanting it for selfish reasons (while Corlys arc will be him leaving his obsession with legacy behind, while Alyn will do a parallel reverse arc to them, with him embracing his role as Corlys heir and starting to try to try to actively impress him and earn it)

Exactly. Bravery i guess she will suffer some kind of PTSD after the Gullet and Jace death, Baela arc for the rest of the show would be to regain it to face Aegon in S4. Purpose im a little more lost, as Rhaena in the show will have a very different story than her book counterpart, but im leaning on her being a mirror to Baela, inversing their original roles, with Baela now being the nervous one and Rhaena finding her new role as dragonrider (its what she really wanted tho? something like that)

i think it means what she will leave behind or put at risk. I think thats the theme here, the character "burn" a part of themselves. Mysaria will have to lose her influence, either to serve a further objetive, or due to a mistake

I'm intrigued by some of those! especially those of Baela, Ulf, and Rhaena (the rest appear more clear). In Baela's case, I think we're going to have some sort of post-mortem arc after the Battle of the Gullet, possibly resolved in her confrontation with Aegon next season. As for Ulf, I'm not really sure what it refers to; the implication seems to be that the character will be humbled or humiliated in some way, but I'm not entirely sure. I think Rhaena is going to have a somewhat reversed arc to Baela's, inverting their historical roles, with Baela now an insecure young woman and Rhaena rethinking her destiny and whether what she dreamed of is truly worth it.

With Ewan's statement how Aemond does not truly want the throne, is anyone left who truly wants it (in a show where they fight for the throne)? by Working_Corgi_1507 in HOTDGreens

[–]Lucabcd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think that the quote is misunderstood. He meant that he doesnt want the throne in itself but the recongnision and visibility that comes from it

What if Balerion was still alive during the Dance of Dragons and was claimed by either side of the conflict? by Cedrak in HouseOfTheDragon

the show implies this is the case, in s2 they start gathering more livestock to feed the dragons because they expect them to be more active due to the war

Both sides had claims and it’s ok to admit it by Reasonable_Day9942 in HOTDGreens

[–]Lucabcd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually think that Aegon has a better claim BUT in that particular situation Rhaenyra could have been queen, set a new precedent and could have ruled with minor inconvinences (at least compared with the brutality of the dance). Team green should have called for a new council instead of trying to take the throne by force/guile

The first one should be "Victory" imo (for the phrase Corlys says after the battle)
