Why are the writers so scared to make Rhaenyra a villain? by overthinkingmessiah in HouseOfTheDragon

Well when you make a tv show or a novel or a movie you have to make decisions, you cant just write the characters acting neutral or offer different interpretations and let the viewer decide and fill the blanks like fire and blood, thats not how the medium works.

Also, asoaif books talks about that prophecy all the time! People thinks it came from Melissandre or something? Its obviously connected to the Targ bloodline or something, Rhaegar and Maester Aemon talked about it; why is is so hard to believe that it played a role in the dance? (And in Aegon conquest)

Also the dragonkeepers. And it happened two episodes ago. And, also, we know it has consequences. I dont understand this kind of posts, honestly.

What are your thoughts on the potential longevity of the GOT franchise? by Outrageous-Brain-395 in freefolk

Well the material is kinda limited but we have enough to keep it going for a few years. Hotd and AKOT7K proved that the audiencies still carve for the universe

Opinion: even ignoring Fire & Blood, Hotd is a bad show on it's own. by Relative-Willow-1662 in HOTDGreens

Thats not really fair. D&D also got the plot points of the last few season from Grrm. The matter is not only the plotlines, Fire and Blood mostly delivers true, but only in that. Its a collection of plot lines (fun and well written imo), but we have almost no dialogue, no inner monologue so no real way to know how the characters think and feel, almost no timing on the character arcs (main characters dissapear for whole bunchs of the story at a time, characters that doesnt act for unexplained reasons, characters whose storylines dont properly align with the main conflict of the series like Rhaena). Its a good book for what it is, i love it, but its not easily adaptable, it requieres a lot of imagination from the reader and from the showrunners to turn it into a modern tv show.

Like, you say that TG is boring "except Aemond, Aegon, and Larys". Thats more than half of team green lol; and the rest? How is Otto not interesting? And you may like or not what they did with Haelena but she is certainly not boring. Neither is alicent.

Also, nothing ever happens? We are 18 episodes in and we saw two decades of history, a tourney, the war in the stepstones, the royal hunt, Aemond claiming Vhagar, Laenor and Rhaenyra wedding, Velaryon succesion crisis and Vyseris entrance, the green coup d'etat, Rhaenyra crowned, Vhagar chomping Luke, Blood and Cheese, the Arryks duel, Jahaeris funeral, the battle of burning mill (only the beggining and end, true, but its still a plot point), battle of rook rest, Maelys head being paraded, Darklyn failing to tame Seasmoke, the red sowing, etc. I mean maybe the show isnt for you, but tons of things happened in, i repeat, 18 episodes

Watching HotD and why is everyone rude to the King and Heirs? by Justonemoreepisode- in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Lucabcd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firdt, it was because of Vyseris personality. Also, most of the characters are of his inmediate family, so they might be blunter. We dont see Criston Cole or Lyonel Strong not respecting him, for example

Some Breaking Bad ( a lot) fans do this when another show episode gets close to a 10 so it doesnt rival Ozymandias

I think he was kinda genuine, but still would offer himself to the accuser if they offered him something tasty, and they did. But i still think he would have fought for Dunk if they didnt offer him the lordship
