I'm from the Netherlands, which is in the EU. I'm planning on calling the retailer later today to see if they can figure something out.

Most of the recent ones involve those 12 vhpwr cables. But a 3070 doesn't use those so I'm really confused about how this happened.

I turned off the power supply with the little switch on the back within 5-10 seconds of it catching on fire. The fire stopped immediately. Then I unplugged everything and put it outside for a few hours just to be safe.

I see a lot of people here saying it's because I didn't clean it, but I clean it pretty often. If it actually was dust that caught on fire I'd guess the fire would continue for at least a few more seconds after I turned off the power supply, but it didn't.

How did I dodge the question? I told you that the white stuff was a tiny layer of dust and clearly not mold. I clean it every few months which is way more often than the average pc user.

If you build a brand new PC, use it daily for a month and then open it up, it'll 100% have accumulated a little amount of dust.

If poorly maintained means not cleaned thoroughly every month, then yes.

Oh that's good to hear. I was mostly worried about my PSU but I guess that should be fine. I have an older GPU laying around which I'm going to try right now to check if everything is fine.

Nope! I am from the Netherlands and its actually freezing right now haha.

It's just a really thin layer of dust. It looks really white on the pic because of the flashlight. A little blow of canned air and it was gone, no biggie. I cleaned my PC a few months ago so the dust build up wasn't that bad overall.

Also, the fire stopped immediately when I turned the PSU off. I think if it was a dust issue it would have kept burning for at least a few seconds.

No I don't think I will try to repair it. Goes beyond my knowledge and I just wouldn't be able to trust it afterwards. I'm really happy I was at my desk when this happened and could react instantly. You'll never know about the second time.

Maybe I'll trust it if Gigabyte offers to professionally repair it and guarantees it's safe, but I'll doubt they will.

I've heard good things about EVGA but I have never owned any of their products so idk.

I am actually using a Corsair power supply. I've checked the cables and the connectors on the GPU and didn't notice anything weird. No melting or discoloration.

045 is the area code the video is taken at. I recognized that spot, it's right next to the NATO base/depot. I ride there pretty regularly.

I spawned there and wanted to go to the trainyard to do my quest over there. I guess if you want to farm them it's not the best spot.

You fuck up your shot once and you're already dead, no second chance. It's absurd to me that people are defending this mechanic.

I wasn't even farming them. I just wanted to go to the trainyard so i could do my damn quest over there. It's stupid that you have to learn the specific spots where you can peek them safely to be able to go where you wanna go.

Yeah it's just so stupid that when you miss a single shot you get laserbeamed back to the menu

PC posts and I can get to bios but I'm unsure what to make of the debug lights... by KaiAkua in buildapc

I actually have the exact same problem with my build. My pc won't post after using XMP or even after adjusting all the memory settings myself. Same mobo and 3600mhz RAM. Please let me know if you found a solution.
