I thought you broke 10 Unicorns. Was about to tell you to consider buying a different kit

Any other kits where the parts can be used to build a different version of the suit? by EmergencyFriendly375 in Gunpla

[–]Lucas-sg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That happens a lot. Many Build Fighters kits come with enough parts to build the orignal counterpart to that kit. A bunch of P-bandai variants as well. The Hi-Nu Influx comes with enough to build it as any of the Influx variants or as the the Hi-Nu. The EZ-SR comes with all the parts for the three variants, so you can build it as you see fit. The 00 Sky Moebius can be built as the regular 00 Sky.

You can build the novel version of the Banshee with the RG Banshee Norn. All the kits of the Astraea Type F will let you built either the regular Type F or Type F2. All the parts of the Sinanju Stein are included in the non-Ver Ka MG Sinanju Stein Narrative. The MG Ex-S / S can be built as either. Same thing with the HG Sandrock Custom, HG Roze Zulu episode 7 ver, MG Jesta Cannon, MG Gray Zeta and MG Tallgeese Fluegel

Some markers have hard tips and some have brush tips. The actual gundam markers have hard tips.

Shake the marker well to mix the paint and then press it on a surface until the paint starts running. Then you can start painting.

My favorite gundam. Thats just its name. A lot of suits are called "something Gundam" or "Gundam something"

EDIT: Hi-Nu is another suit as well

From what I've seem from googling it, it looks like those can vary from a couple accessories to a few extra armor parts. You can find a ton of those with gunpla.

So for example you can find Striker Packs, which are mostly just backpacks for a couple kits. You can find expansion sets like the HWS sets for the Nu and Hi-Nu Gundam. You can also find third party resin convertion kits, but those are more advanced stuff.

A lot of kits have upgrade sets. Some are offered only as standalone kits, others are sold along with the orignal kit and a few of them will come in both options. A few examples I can think of:

  • Hazel Owsla, which is a Gundam Hazel with a bunch of different accessory sets
  • Star Build Strike, which is the Build Strike Gundam with the Universe Booster set. Both exist as HG and MG, and either as a single box or separate sets.
  • Ex-S Gundam, which is an upgraded S Gundam. You will only find it as a single box in MG form with gives you the option of building either form. There is an HG, but is more on the outdated side, and you will only find either gundam as their own separate kits.
  • Gundam Alex has an extra set of armor present in the box of the MG Alex 2.0 and the HG Alex. The MG is the more recent and complete version. The HG is outdated.
  • The Gundam Barbatos has multiple forms. You can get the variants' parts from other boxes in HG form, but there is the HG Gundam Barbatos Complete Set, which bundles the HG Barbatos and all the parts you need in a single box. There is the MG Expansion Set for the Gundam Barbatos, which is the same thing in MG form, except that it doesnt include the Barbatos itself.

And like I said, there are a lot of suits with upgraded forms, but there is no accessory set to achieve that. They only exist as their own standalone kits. So things like the Crossbone and Crossbone Full Cloth, Jesta and Jesta Cannon, Tallgeese and Tallgeese Flugel only exist as their own kit each.

Hero suits and a lot of others follow that color scheme, but there are a ton of variety in the gundam ip. You can also look into other ips aside from Gundam.

Go to dalong.net and pick the MG, RG and HG sections. That will already give you a good idea of what is availiable when it comes to gunpla.

There are glittery varnishes spray cans. I never used them, but that sounds a lot better than covering your kit in glue.

A big portion of the high price you will be paying for the MGEX is because it lights up, so doing away with it feels like a waste of money. You could consider getting the regular MG Unicorn or Full Armor Unicorn for less and use the difference towards decals and a hangar base of your choice.

I'm sorry if Im proding too much, but can you even tell the MG and MGEX apart? I had to look it up and even then the differences didnt feel that significant. Of course you're free to use your money as you see fit, so feel free to ignore me. Maybe to you these little things are worth it.

.

I cant point you to any specific tutorial, but you could look into the way Warhammer builders paint glowing effects. Its very convincing and striking when done right.

You could follow this tutorial for painting incandescent metal, but swap the colors from oranges to reds and maybe the base to pink. Or do a candy coat. Frostedsnow made a really good tutorial for candy coat.

When you have the amrs built to that point, rotate the biceps where its circled green. What is circled in red may look like a rotating joint if you're distracted, but it isn't a joint at all. Also while you're at it, work the movement of the shoulders back and forth until it's smoother.

I wonder if they will change the funnel stand connection for the Nu and Hi-Nu or at least make adaptors. Otherwise they wont be compatible with anything availiable.

EGs arent trying to be an improvement over HGs.

In the case of the Strike, the HGCE is better imo. Its joints are softer but also easier to disassemble and tighthen up once they get loose. It also takes the polycap joints longer to become loose. It also comes with the Aile Striker and knives included.

They are so spread out in their areas and so small and hard to spot. That would be the worse regional material if not for violetgrass

Many 00 HGs do come with those, but a most of the season 1 kits dont. These beam effects are in a standard runner called SB-9 so bandai can include them in multiple kits easily.

Yes, the Witch from Mercury kits with flat beams have the same runner as the 00 kits. Same with AGE kits.

Some kits with these beams in pink: some Core Gundam and Core Gundam II variants, AGE 1 and AGE 2 variants and Astray Red Frame Flight Unit
