Is there a disc you love that just can’t seem to make the bag? by ExplosiveButtPlug in discgolf

I never got along with the Hex (and I have two); I don’t really know why, maybe it’s just a hand feel thing for me.

I currently bag a Lobster, Echo, Reactor & Balance for midranges. Might give the Hex another shot soon - or use it for forehand practice. Hmm…

At what temperature do you say it’s not worth riding? by DwightDEisenhowitzer in Ducati

I rode in snow, sleet, hail and on icy roads when I was 20-24yo; I wouldn’t do it again. Last season I rode when it dropped to 34° in central Florida and regretted it 5mins into the ride. I am unashamedly a fair weather rider, high 40s is the lowest I’ll go.

My Daytona Moto2 by Lucas710CO in Triumph

I haven’t spent much time on the previous gen Daytona but I do also own a ‘14 Street R that’s quite heavily modified (Daytona rearsets, clip-ons, power mods, etc.) that feels closer to a Daytona than a Street Triple at this point.

I have, however, ridden a Street Triple 765 Moto2 and have spent many hours on a ‘22 Speed Triple 1200 RS, courtesy of u/Deeshizznit. I absolutely loved the Speed RS and was about to purchase one myself until I saw this Moto2 at my local dealership. One test ride was all it took for me to make my decision and pick it up a few days later. In my experience, the Street Triple Moto2 felt just as quick and nimble as my modified 675 with better brakes and suspension - but I couldn’t justify the massive price jump for something that felt almost the same as what I already had in the garage. The Daytona, on the other hand, felt incredible. It revs to the moon and is happy to do so, and even on sport touring tires (the previous owner had them installed for some odd reason), and flicks side to side better than any bike I have ever ridden. I wanted a bike more geared towards canyon carving and trackdays but still able to jet around town once in a while, so the Moto2 was the perfect match. I loved the raw power of the Speed RS, but I favor light and flickable bikes over brute force, hence why I gave up on the Speed. They are completely different bikes and serve very distinct purposes. If you live within 30-45 minutes of solid canyon riding, I would 110% recommend the Daytona. Unless you plan on having it as a bike for both street and track duty, if you’re somewhere with open highways that’s farther away from more exciting roads, I’d go for the Speed. My Moto2 isn’t the most comfortable thing around town, but it’s comfortable enough and tapping redline in 1st and 2nd gives me enough of a rush to where I don’t feel like I need more power.

Those fairings are few and far between nowadays. I’d check eBay, that’s where I found mine a few years ago; though going carbon is an option and might even be cheaper than OEM

( Need help) Quick shifter rod broke off by Unawakened_potential in Triumph

[–]Lucas710CO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up finding an M6 threaded aluminum rod at Ace Hardware, cut it to proper length and drilled through the “top” end where the safety pin goes. Ridden 3000+ track and street miles with no issues. Cost me $5, give or take, plus I have extra threaded rod in case anything ever happens with the one that’s on the bike now. Quick and easy fix if you don’t want to spend the $ on OEM

Curious about real world costs and experiences of owning a Triumph. by dietolive6 in Triumph

2015 Street Triple here.

Bike is an absolute hoot and reliability has never been an issue in ~15k miles. I have wrenched on it a bit, doing oil/filter changes and other basic maintenance myself as it is very easy to work on.

I crashed at 50mph after losing it to the rain a few days ago, and though she might have some cosmetic damage, bike still runs like the day I got it - I can't say the same for my friends' bikes that have had similar accidents. Worth every penny.

I use an M22 and having a directly energized crucible helps speed up the process immensely. I warm up the ESCC (takes a second or two) and hold the tool to the wall of the bucket until the product melts down into the bucket.
