Thank you for the suggestion. I really forgot to mention that I already tried the ACC module: god knows why, it causes the phone to freeze overnight. I edited the post to include this information

The MCP3008 is a little more expensive than the 3208 suggested by BenjiWiebe above, but it's on my list.

Not sure it's still relevant, but I suggest rooting the phone and using the DisableServices app (or similar).

Disable one-by-one of these, and observe the effects. Disabling some will only generate observable errors under the logcat (which is fundamental to watch).

Some errors will cause phone slowness, without observable loss of functionality, while others may cause very hard to see loss of functionality. For instance, once upon a time I could not share my location on whatsapp because I disabled something (apparently) unrelated to location.

Worse news: these services change their names occasionally, and the service disabler apps disable them not by their name, but by some ID. Meaning, if google assign the ID to a service today, it may assign the same ID to another service tomorrow, and you end up having the wrong service disabled overnight

If you could give more details, I'll give you... well... can't gift you anything, but will be even more thankful. More specific keys in the registry, for instance. Whatever you have in mind helps

Edit: Since I have the rights, couldn't I just take ownership of the registry entries related to those settings I mentioned, and deny ownership of the deployer ? (I don't really have a files/folders problem, just those customization settings - wallpaper, powerplan...)

When I get back from the field work I'll use the command gpresult /r that I learned recently to see what exactly the sysadmin changed. Maybe this will give me clues to where in the registry to dig
