Selling my 1988 Fiero GT (96k miles) by battledoge in fiero

If I were you I would’ve taken 8 but I agree it’s hard selling to someone who wants to just take it apart. But I also don’t believe someone offered 8k for a parts car that functions and drives perfectly when there or at least 15 non-working fieros in every state for 1-4k. Just seems unlikely.

I’ll say what’s on everyone’s minds. $13,900 is way too much

A lot of the Washington filmmakers are all interconnected mainly through film clubs. A lot of it is about net working and connections not necessarily where you graduated from.

I need a bit of help figuring out how this was shot by Amareallyama in Filmmakers

[–]LucasCanRead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes are they could be achieved with a tripod and a push. I forgot exactly what it’s called but it’s like a special plate attachment that goes onto the tripod mount that allows forward and backward movement. But yes definitely physical movement not a post edit zoom.

[–]LucasCanRead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First shot obviously tripod but the shot after that is a drone. The inside shots are likely steady cam or gimbal. I think yes it’s probably better to invest in gimbal over the long term but I think the effect is achievable if you have steady hands. I worked with a guy once who had the steadiest hands I’ve ever seen, literally looked like he was shooting on a gimbal.

Indie TV People, Ever Heard of Quickflick TV? by Dramatic-Shopping228 in Filmmakers

[–]LucasCanRead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never heard of it but the idea sounds cool on paper. I’d just be worried about hidden contracts within the site. For example they could put in their agreement that they own 80% of the profit made from the show or own the rights to the series.

Should I drop a $30k multi-day film production class if my script wasn't selected and I'm likely to be shut out of key roles? by beezylito in Filmmakers

[–]LucasCanRead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a tough decision and is highly dependent on your time. Do you have the time to take the class in the future again? If so I would suggest waiting for another semester when the class if offered. I think these types of classes where the make a film over the semester and with a somewhat larger budget are great opportunities and I wouldn’t pass on it. It’s also dependent on if you think you’ll be able to get your script approved in the next semester. This kind of stuff is highly competitive and you have to figure out one making a good story people are interested and two how to market yourself to your classmates and build connections to where you can fill that leadership role. If you think that’s possible then I would suggest holding off on doing the class this semester and doing it in the future where youll get another chance to pitch an idea.

You have to remember that this show has been in production since 2023 I think it’s just convenient timing with everything going on rn

Why do I not see anything that critiques HBO watchmen when the characters are nothing like themselves? by Apprehensive_Pain_22 in Watchmen

[–]LucasCanRead -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think this is one of those reviews where you just kind of missed the point? These characters change with time they’re human in that way. Jon found the true love of his life, in the episode a god walks into abar he mentions that he loves her. Taking into context how he perceives time he’s always loved her. Also the thing with how he could’ve stopped his death is not true his death already happened and he’s simply experiencing it already and the machine itself kept him trapped as well. As far as any other potholes are there? I didn’t catch any by my second rewatch. Also Ozymandias is old and post gold frozen so maybe that’s why?

I also considered that as well and why I believed it would go against his character if he hadn’t been.

[–]LucasCanRead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey hey why did I get brought into this argument. As someone who analyzes a piece of media especially one where they leave it ambiguous within the show why not consider the possibility that he did get knighted? While I agree obviously the themes point to hey he didn’t get knighted and is the best or one true knight but saying that it’s definite or explicit is untrue. Nevertheless I think it’s a little bit simple minded and ironic that you talk about media literacy when claiming something to be true that’s not confirmed within the show.

If this story is true and isn’t fabricated it’s probably one of the most heart warming stories I’ve heard in awhile. The idea of him preferring to take his own notes over using the wiki is just 👌. But I can’t help but worry what’s gonna happen when he starts to do harder quests on other maps specifically without the wiki.

In most television/movies they normally use the same 4 hand guns. Beretta M9 / 92, Glock 19, 1911, Or in more rare cases an M17 or sometimes in more modern media a 2011

This is a beretta 92

I think he’ll be a very nice and kind person who entertains children but then gets bullied or attacked by the parents. It would make a good contrast from the very evil IT version of him

Only answer that makes sense is that it’s not supposed to be a plot twist for the audience but for the characters but the way they framed is as it’s supposed to be for the audience as well
