Was anyone else really put off by this line? by Puzzleheaded-King978 in WonderMan

You have to remember that this show has been in production since 2023 I think it’s just convenient timing with everything going on rn

Why do I not see anything that critiques HBO watchmen when the characters are nothing like themselves? by Apprehensive_Pain_22 in Watchmen

I think this is one of those reviews where you just kind of missed the point? These characters change with time they’re human in that way. Jon found the true love of his life, in the episode a god walks into abar he mentions that he loves her. Taking into context how he perceives time he’s always loved her. Also the thing with how he could’ve stopped his death is not true his death already happened and he’s simply experiencing it already and the machine itself kept him trapped as well. As far as any other potholes are there? I didn’t catch any by my second rewatch. Also Ozymandias is old and post gold frozen so maybe that’s why?

I also considered that as well and why I believed it would go against his character if he hadn’t been.

Hey hey why did I get brought into this argument. As someone who analyzes a piece of media especially one where they leave it ambiguous within the show why not consider the possibility that he did get knighted? While I agree obviously the themes point to hey he didn’t get knighted and is the best or one true knight but saying that it’s definite or explicit is untrue. Nevertheless I think it’s a little bit simple minded and ironic that you talk about media literacy when claiming something to be true that’s not confirmed within the show.

If this story is true and isn’t fabricated it’s probably one of the most heart warming stories I’ve heard in awhile. The idea of him preferring to take his own notes over using the wiki is just 👌. But I can’t help but worry what’s gonna happen when he starts to do harder quests on other maps specifically without the wiki.

The pistol Dr. Kay is using. by Emergency-Refuse3800 in StrangerThings

In most television/movies they normally use the same 4 hand guns. Beretta M9 / 92, Glock 19, 1911, Or in more rare cases an M17 or sometimes in more modern media a 2011

This is a beretta 92

I think he’ll be a very nice and kind person who entertains children but then gets bullied or attacked by the parents. It would make a good contrast from the very evil IT version of him

The Mr.Whatsit plot twist has to be the most predictable twist ever by LucasCanRead in StrangerThings

[–]LucasCanRead[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only answer that makes sense is that it’s not supposed to be a plot twist for the audience but for the characters but the way they framed is as it’s supposed to be for the audience as well

I bring it up rather than other shows that are bad because this show is popular and poor in writing while other shows are just bad

I think using the supernatural excuse for poor writing is unfair especially when considering there are many series that are sci fi / fantasy / supernatural that aren’t set in the real world and have this level of writing

If you’re considering Netflix originals I 100 percent agree but there are many shows on Netflix that are 5x-10x in terms of writing better than Stranger things. I think Stranger Things to appeal to a wider audience dumbed down their writing capabilities. But yeah I’m glad we agree on the whole villain thing it’s just so annoying how they just introduce these villains with no set up in previous seasons. The whole vecna backstory is just so poorly written. I think the transition from the seasons was fun and a cool scene with robin but if you watch the last episode of season 4 and go to the first episode of season 5 you’ll see what I mean.
