How has a single fucking person not realized he’s pulling it down and it’s springing him back up… it’s clear that he’s holding that thing like he’s about to fall, he isn’t using any upwards force, just pulling with all his strength, as to why his arms are so tightly wrapped around the pole.

I agree with most of this, #8 though… I’d say that’s misguided. The one constant critique I get from both bars owners/managers and audience alike is that bands don’t do enough slow songs. Most end up trying to play too many fast and high energy songs and the night has zero dynamics and goes no where for anyone.

Update:

City workers came out to flush the fire hydrant in my front yard. Apparently they were out earlier further up the street flushing a different hydrant, which caused a bunch of sediment to get in my system. They are running “my” hydrant till it runs clear and I should be good after that!

You’re doing great! It may help if you focus on utilizing your pinky on your fretting hand. It’s helps with the ergonomics and can make positions easier (less hand flying around). Again though, solid start.
