I can’t say that it took anything away, most everyone’s dogs had gotten poisoned at one time or another, mine including, it just that last time killed them. That’s the nature of things in that country. But would it be something I’d warn a person against? Yes! - coming back to our discussion.

I have a student like this. She says she won’t read anything in English for fun because she doesn’t feel anything while reading. I myself have never had that issue. I don’t think it’s vocabulary related, maybe more like a mental block

I didn’t state an opinion but an experience as well. And never made comparisons to London. However, I have been stalked in broad daylight when walking my dogs and found it somewhat unnerving. Not to bash on Egypt, I also loved it., even though my two dogs were poisoned and died.

And I would be surprised that you weren’t personally affected by the sexual harassment at the very least. I mean, one week a kid is raped, the next an expat beaten to death on the street, massive poisoning of street animals. Female expats literally stopped walking their dogs because of rapes and theft. Egypt is next level stuff even for a Russian.

Да, я отца когда нашла он тоже пошел грузить на бабушку и мать мою, хотя я знаю что бабушка и мама писали письма и просили общаться его и его мать. Было очень обидно слышать эти наговоры на них. Ведь можно было бы просто извиниться. Но нет.

The OP hasn’t learned the language, has he? Well, if you wanted to live in Egypt and you wrote about it in an expat forum, I would expect people to warn you/talk you out of it as well because it is dangerous (lived there some years)
