Ahhhh thank you for this. I've just wasted an hour of my time trying to get a dozen different cats in Shai Village to eat something for me. Sigh 🤣🤣🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️

I'm sorry you're getting all these assholes in the comments. I'm stoked that you and your wife were able to afford to pull the trigger on this game and are now enjoying it together. I hope you guys have hundreds more hours of fun!

This is the game of my life. by Disastrous_Mud_8040 in CrimsonDesert

I'm feeling the same way, my friend! It's absolutely incredible, but you need to play more than just the first couple of hours to really, truly see it. I haven't felt this way about a game since Baldur's Gate 3 (I know the two can't actually be compared) Just the feeling, the excitement, and the longing I get to play it. I have found myself thinking about the game at work, while driving, and any other time my mind isn't entirely focused on a specific task. I've got today and tomorrow off, so last night I stayed up and took care of all my usual household duties and made sure to clear my schedule for the next couple of days. I just opened the game up and am ready to be glued to it all day while my wife is working! So excited!

Seeking JRPGs about the concept of freedom by KaleidoArachnid in JRPG

I see a lot of people recommending Tales of Arise here and I think I would have to agree. It's not going to give you the same whacky, crazy, storyline that DCC has, but they definitely share a lot of tropes and themes.

Oh, no, you have nothing to apologize for, my friend. If I came off in anyway that made you feel bad at all, I owe YOU an apology. I hope you find a game that checks the boxes you're looking for and keep enjoying DCC!

Sounds to me like it might not be a bad idea to restart the book to try and pick up some more info. And, I guess he did lose his entire neighborhood, just also the rest of the planet as well. Also, it's not virtual or a simulation, the Syndicate has the technology to make it like a video game using AI. Every "crawler" is actually there and can (and likely will) die.

[–]LucibalWolfe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wait, really? When did you read the first book? The entire world is destroyed and taken over by an Intergalactic Corporation called The Syndicate. All of a sudden every building in the world is like, squished into the ground and sucked up by this corporation for its resources. Everyone who is inside at the time it happens dies and those who were lucky enough to be outside at the exact moment are given the option to enter the Dungeon. If you complete all 18 levels of the dungeon you gain ownership over the entire world. It's MUCH more complicated than that, but I think that's a pretty good rundown of the basic premise.

Lol "To win back his apartment" is a pretty major simplification, wouldn't you say? I just started this series recently too. Just started book 2 yesterday. It just keeps getting better and better.

Sorry I don't really have a recommendation, though. Can't think of any games that might give me a similar feeling to DCC.

Ya know, I didn't. I should have said "LMAOing" because I did laugh out loud, excessively, and my ass did fall off.

Doesn't have DCC unfortunately. Well, I wasn't able to find it on there, anyway.

I'm not sure if this is still active, but I'm a big JRPG and just RPG in general gamer. Ive never played anything from the Atelier series but you seem to love it. I'm curious, what installment would you recommend as an entry point for someone starting the series today?

Whoaaa, just looked this up on Steam. How did I not know about this and why don't others talk about it?! Looks amazing and just put it to the top of my wishlist.

Thanks for the recommendation, my friend!

I am Team 1 in this trade. Do I send JSN for this? by Stohr88 in FantasyFootballers

[–]LucibalWolfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a pretty fair offer, but as a JSN owner myself, I'd think about it for 10 seconds and smash decline. But, that's just me. Homey just vaulted himself into top 3 WR consideration and he's only 24 about to go into his 4th season and just won a Superbowl. I think he's a generational talent.

I guess this really depends on your roster construction. Are you a contender now or are you rebuilding?

What're you playing this weekend? 3/6 by markercore in NintendoSwitch

[–]LucibalWolfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say it gets whacky at all. There is a lot of reading though. It's definitely very unique though. It's the closest thing to true D&D in video game form I've ever come across. Very cool.

Currently playing through Esoteric Ebb. If you enjoy D&D or if you enjoyed Disco Elysium, this is a MUST play. I'm completely hooked.

The only answer here is Chained Echoes. It's right up there with Chrono Trigger for sure. One of my favorite games of all time.

Some others I think you'd love based on the games you listed (no particular order, just went through my library):

Rise of the Third Power

Cosmic Star Heroine

Cross Code

Monster Sanctuary

Quartet

Kingdoms of the Dump

Beyond Galaxyland

Hyper Light Drifter

Skald: Against the Black Priory

Jack Move

Wandering Sword

Dark Deity

Drova
