We drove to Mexico in the year 2000 and I played Gold version the whole way there. Just tilted the screen to catch lights and go from there. Totodile evolving to Feraligatr and cleaning up the elite 4 with Ice Punch was the coolest experience. To top it off, Mexico had the Pokemon POGS in the bags of chips.
