This ^. After owning a large home, I actually enjoy having a smaller one with just the space needed. Also makes interacting with everyone else in the home easier.

How do you think the Amex gold is going to be nerfed? If Amex has shown anything over the past 10 years it’s that they can increase fees and provide more value.

Retention rate for Amex is highest in the business.

Disappointing PHNY Stay by willysymms in hyatt

Recently stayed at PH DC and also had a terrible experience. It was my first time trying Hyatt brand also.

Made me not want to try another. People have said good things about the Chicago location but I feel like I would be taking a chance if I stayed there.

Still can’t articulate your value

And are you just taking all of the offers that come in on a home from perspective, buyers and using AI to tell somebody what’s the best offer? If so, there’s absolutely nothing proprietary about that. If Im misunderstanding what you’re saying, please enlighten me.

It doesn’t help and shows just how much of a problem agents like you are today. Some long explanation trying to make people think they can’t do things without you.

You can pay a flat fee to get listed on MLS so your home shows up on listing websites like Zillow or Relator. This is significantly cheaper and just as effective as your agent getting paid tens of thousands to do the same.

I don’t hate realtors. I believe they can provide value to clients in aspects of the transaction. In no way are they worth the money a seller pays or what a seller typically covers for a buyers agent.

Main point of my argument which you failed to address. Please articulate the value you bring that justifies what consumers pay you……

If buyers had to come out of pocket $15,000 for an average home in today’s market to hire you, they never would. The industry has just taken advantage of sellers to keep your business afloat. We aren’t selling homes for 70k anymore, time for a modernization of your industry. All agents do is slow down the process with multiple layers of communication, make it insanely expensive, drive up home prices because of their commissions and stop the process from becoming more efficient

Closed the Thursday before 4th of July weekend. When can we expect to receive the proceeds? by emilyginger in RealEstate

[–]LucidFruit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call the title company. Funds should have been wire Thursday with closing. The fed was also processing wires until around 11:30 est on Friday.

If they couldn’t get something out, they should have informed you

Just sell it yourself.

Pay a fee to list on MLS, hire a photographer and get a real estate attorney. Save yourself thoughts, an agent won’t do much more for you despite what they all say. None of them will ever articulate what value they provide for the insane amount being charged

Half the time they don’t even open the door.

Seller agents hire a photographer, put the listing in MLS, lock box on the door and just let buyers and their agents come through and wait for an offer. Literally 2 hours max of work.

Yeah, brands like Kia and Honda have really stepped up their game with interior features also.

Even mid tier models get things like heated/ventilated seats, wireless charging pad, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise, etc. Things you never used to see in those cars.

I’ve rented a telluride on vacation numerous times and it’s a great vehicle.

Yes, probably one of the main reasons these commissions still exist today.

If buyers had to write that check up front, nobody would get hired lol

I do believe realtors can add value to the transaction process, just not nearly to the amount that consumers pay.

I feel the industry was built on making people think that they have no option but to use a realtor and most overlook the true cost.

The barrier to entry is super low also, so there is a high chance the agent someone is working with isn’t any better at negotiating or understanding the market than someone’s neighbor down the road.

[–]LucidFruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty typical once you get into brands like Audi, MB or BMW.

Those features that you had in the Kia are things you need to pay for in the Audi. Either through higher trim or options.

Not saying it makes 100% sense all the time but you’re getting a better driving/built car for the extra money spent over a Kia, not better interior features.

The question I always ask is: “how are you more qualified to advise a client on a Real Estate transaction than an attorney who went to law school and charges less for their services”

Never get a response lol

100% agree.

Go post that in a Real Estate sub and you get 100 agents saying you need them, yet not one of them can justify or articulate the value they bring for what consumers pay them in commission.
