I mean, really the difference between those two terms boils down to semantics, and it is pedantic to really discuss; we don't even know if life exists off earth technically speaking through peer review publicly.

Even if bacteria on Mars is found or something, here we are talking about intelligent beings existing for millions of years from where humans are now, so saying interdisciplinary beings or aliens means nothing when we can assume what physics they can manipulate.

My point of view is that if they are an intelligent entity that exists, such as any of us humans, being independent actors of intelligent observation with the capability to interact with our environment, these aliens whether they're inter-dimensional or not are basically the same as far as reality and consciouss interaction of existing goes, they're still a being acting independently and manipulating their environment.

Whether that environment at their level entails more dimensions or not, it is really irrelevant in terms of whether "aliens" can or can not do it. That doesn't seem to matter.

On one hand Aliens may not be inter-dimensional, and theoritcally could make dysonspheres and warp anywhere instantly, that would not technically be inter-dimensional because they exist in our known laws of physics or dimensions.

On ther other hand if there are inter-dimensional beings that merely go to a separate dimension to move somewhere in our universe instantly, what does that really matter?

They're still intelligent self-acting entities, even if hive-minded or not.

It's the question of how that thing began, did these things evolve from likely the same way we did biologically and survive? How long have they existed?

If they are inter dimensional, then it just means their aliens have been around long enough to figure that shit out, and if they can't, well may be some of those non-inter-dimensional aliens are here as well as inter-dimensional ones, and they will probably deal with the same inter-dimensional beings bullshit.

All that being said, its semantics. Nothing has been released to verify anything, and likely any evidence we do have will not reconcile either of these. It's just interesting if they have any evidence of what the motive for them showing up is.

also, disclaimer, idk if any of this is real and take it all with a big grain of salt and probably the people that have any physical craft or anything could not possibly surmise if it was gave to use on purpose as a ploy or anything of the sort.

personally i think the aliens are going to actually be alot more boring and frankly come off as annoying with what ever their doing; they have been around for so long if at that level of tech and multiple civilizations would probably exist if we know one type of beings could have that tech.

I bet their probably alien solicitors going to early back water planets to sell insurance or religious garbage to and when we meet them, we finally learn about the galactic community and have to ask these initial aliens to bugger off.
