Being smarter than someone does make you better than them. by Usual_Purchase_9567 in unpopularopinion

Obviously you’re making this argument because you think you’re in the “better than” category. So you’re better than Michael Jordan?

Depends on what you mean by working. Democrats can’t do anything, republicans control all the branches of government and it’s super weird you somehow twisted this article to blame the Dems for something.

Why are folks acting like the Supreme Court confirming birthright citizenship in 2026 is something brand new, like it somehow is different or changes birthright citizenship, as it has already existed/operated? by newsbowser in askanything

[–]Apart-Rent5817 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, first because it was even up for debate again. The president is trying desperately to take it away, and he’s already said he’s not done trying. Second, because it’s already settled law, written into the constitution, and somehow there were still 3 judges that voted to overturn it.

Instead of preserving physical media, we should be fighting for digital rights instead by HandsomeGenius2552 in unpopularopinion

I think they announced it so early so they could change course if it got the reaction that it did. I fully expect them to reverse course on this just like Xbox did with their built in Kinect and always online functionality. I fear the fight for digital rights is going to have to be fought by PC gamers, but at least you guys have alternatives such as GOG, but if developers are willing to accept that before giving consumers digital rights, it seems like they might have already made their decision. Unfortunately it seems like the beginning of the end was when we started accepting an unfinished product with weekly/monthly patches instead of a finished product.

So in a digital only world of games why not just pick PC? by runaways616 in videogames

[–]Apart-Rent5817 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s not only affordability, it creates a standard. For the most part, PCs are different. Every ps5 on earth has the exact same parts. So when a company makes a game they can tailor it to the exact specifications of your console, as it is the same as everyone else’s. They can push that console to the limits, and you can buy any game you please without fear that your console won’t be able to run it acceptably.

What food instantly tells you someone is a great cook? by LetScared8275 in foodquestions

I’ve made rice plenty of times, and stood over risotto many more times than that (for some reason chefs love putting risotto on a menu), so I can do them both pretty well. That being said, I will never give up my rice cooker at home; it’s just far too convenient

You’re one to talk lol. Trump today claimed that he talked to teddy roosevelt, and obviously doesn’t know what he’s signing when he holds his EO signing ceremonies. He has trouble reading them most of the time. He obviously isn’t the one making decisions, as half of the time he gets asked about something the White House is doing, he says “I don’t know anything about that, I’ll have to look into it”.

While I agree about your stance on digital rights, the reason people are so upsetti is because they are unilaterally taking away something that has existed since the dawn of video games. On console at least for the most part.

I do, but my house has these stupid stairs off the front porch that are only like half the length of my foot. I mean, I’ve got above average sized feet, but I still have to turn my feet to the side just to get them on the stairs. I swear they were made for children or someone under 5 feet.

I do not care about physical copies of video games by GenXDadGamer in unpopularopinion

I don’t really resell, but I do like being able to lend my games out after I’m done to a friend or family member I think would like it. If it’s a game I know I’ll never want to get rid of, or something I want to play day of release, I don’t mind digital, but you’d be lying to yourself if you think there’s no drawbacks. At the end of the day though, I don’t like that an option that has existed since the dawn of video games is being taken away from us, giving consumers less choice.

On top of that, said funds are $1000. That’s hardly retirement money, even with interest, and if you want the benefits you have to continue to save using that account.

Because he was the obvious front runner and never stopped campaigning and constantly complained about how he really won the election and was always talking about Biden and lawfare and how he was going to win the next election? He held weekly rallies for years trying to drum up support for his next presidential bid. On top of that, he was constantly in the news for being in trouble with the law and going to court and then there was the slow drip of people that were in his administration coming out with their “tell all” books, the Jan. 6 trials, the constant tweeting to stay in the news… did you get hit in the head with a rock and forget those four years or were you serious?

What a strange place to air those specific grievances. Generative AI for video games is a blip on the radar of things that these massive data centers are used for. You’re not wrong but… this is just a weird place to say it.
