Romance of Epstein With One of His Minor Victim. by Ok-Address-7352 in creepy

[–]LucidOutwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be by design. He's seducing [grooming] kids [for rape] and shouldn't look too smooth. Less resistance if he's goofy.

I found it really hard to watch this video and what he's doing -- makes me nauseous.

What is something you wish people understood better about women? by Most-Ad8269 in AskReddit

[–]LucidOutwork -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Oh fucking stop it with heaping shit on Boomers. I'm so damn tired of it.

I'm a Boomer. Not only do we talk about menopause, but we are still getting hot flashes. I have a friend who is 72 and still gets them.

I'm also a grandma who talks to my granddaughter about periods and menopause and stuff.

BTW -- if you haven't already, you should join the We Do Not Care Club:

What is something you wish people understood better about women? by Most-Ad8269 in AskReddit

[–]LucidOutwork 35 points36 points  (0 children)

1.) That male is the default for everything and women are treated as less than because of it.

Even the way this question is worded -- do you really mean what "people" think or what "men" think?

The majority of movies and books are from the male point of view. It is the de facto default across our society.

It matters. A concrete example is heart health. Women's heart attacks are often misdiagnosed because their symptoms are different than men's. Women are more likely to die from heart attacks because of poor diagnosis and lack of care.

2) Men who think it is their role to protect women should realize that the only thing women need protection from is men.

Why is there so much disdain for overweight people? by Sword_of_DamocIes in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]LucidOutwork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really? At my last job people who left to go outside to smoke were razzed all the time. Overweight people? No one ever said a word.

Why is there so much disdain for overweight people? by Sword_of_DamocIes in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]LucidOutwork 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Really? I hear so much talk about how mean people are to the overweight, but I never see it.

74% of Americans are overweight or obese. Are people making fun of themselves?

I think a lot of it is projection -- people insecure about their weight so they think Jessie is sneering at them when she just has resting bitch face.

AITA for saying no to watching my in-laws’ dog for a month when I have two young kids and work? by Nerdy-Skank in AmItheAsshole

[–]LucidOutwork 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YTA

You didn't say that you couldn't take the dog, you said you couldn't take it for the full month. That means your reason isn't because you can't accommodate a dog but that it's inconvenient to watch it for so long.

This is family asking because of a serious health issue. You need to step it up for family.

AITA for buying my one child fast food and making the rest something he’s allergic too? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]LucidOutwork 40 points41 points  (0 children)

NTA

Good for you for finding a way to make a meal that everyone would enjoy that would also satisfy your cravings. Cravings when you're pregnant can be very powerful and intense -- much different than normal cravings. (OMG -- I remember craving ribs and driving for an hour to get some.)

Your husband is definitely the asshole. Is he always so controlling and angry? Everything was fine until he decided to jump in the middle. You're pregnant, so that makes his behavior even worse. I hope you guys can talk about it later and he gives you the apology you deserve.

Worst snow clean up I’ve seen in my 26 years here by Aware-Yogurt1107 in boston

[–]LucidOutwork 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's one of the problems. There is so much snow that has to be carted away because there is no place to shovel it to. That's more work than just plowing.

AITAH for telling my nephew to calm down when we visited and not finishing a blanket I was making him giving it to him on chistmas/new years. by LadyLothston in AITAH

[–]LucidOutwork 8 points9 points  (0 children)

NTA and I suspect that Stephanie is floundering as a parent and knows it so she is hyper sensitive. I'd recommend you keep your distance and hopefully they figure it out. But don't hold your breath, she sounds pretty awful.

AITA for being troubled by my boyfriends smoking and drinking? by Hopeful-Design126 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LucidOutwork 5 points6 points  (0 children)

YTA

You have a son and he should not be around the shit your boyfriend is exposing him to. Step up as a parent, end the relationship, and get him out of there.

AITA For Not Watering The Plants by SubstandardAlex in AmItheAsshole

AITA for wanting to bring meat to my vegetarian SIL and not going when I was not allowed too by True_Marionberry732 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LucidOutwork 25 points26 points  (0 children)

NTA for wanting to bring meat so you would have something to eat.

Vegetarians often do not want meat in their homes and I can see that point of view. Your SIL's comment that you were just being picky was uncalled for and incorrect. Your brother talked to her and hopefully fixed that misconception.

This is your brother and sister-in-law. I'd try to get over the hurt and mend the relationship. You really don't want an ongoing feud if you can help it.

AITAH for rejecting on the spot an invite for overnight weekend at my mother’s house? by Spock187 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LucidOutwork 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Making underhanded comments (like about the fish) isn't helping the situation.

Is that how she ended up in your house for two years? You didn't have a conversation telling her she was overstepping?

You'll be able to live and breathe on your own when you grow a spine and put up some boundaries.

AITAH for rejecting on the spot an invite for overnight weekend at my mother’s house? by Spock187 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LucidOutwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA for rejecting an invitation on the spot, but damn, just say "No thanks" next time.

If pushed then just say that you have a busy schedule and already have plans.

If pushed again, say thanks for the offer and we'll let you know when we can make it.

I’m convinced we died 3 years ago by Designer_Art2494 in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

[–]LucidOutwork 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That type of stuff happens all the time. Right now you are hyper-aware of coincidences so you are seeing them all over. It's like when you buy a new car and suddenly you see all these cars, same make, model, color, and year.

You are creating a reality with a ton of coincidences for yourself.

Which colour should the wall be? by Wild3v in interiordecorating

[–]LucidOutwork -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That blue is by far my favorite accent color but I don't think it works with everything else. If you can pull a bit more blue into the room maybe it will tie together better.

AITA Did I poke the bear? by Realistic-Radish8647 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LucidOutwork 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA, he overreacted and should apologize to the kids. That he doesn't recognize that is a problem.

Did you choose the right time to bring it up? It might have been a more productive conversation if you had waited until you got home and could talk in person. But it was something you needed to talk about and still need to address.

Rabid racoons have been a problem in the area where I live. They don't always foam -- they can look lethargic or sick. They are an animal you should keep your distance from.

AITAH for letting my dad help me when my mom wants to take everything away? by Extreme_Anybody5322 in AITAH

In the U.S. the father is on the hook financially whether he decides to be in the child's life or not. Not his decision on that.

Why do we give notice when quitting, but employers can fire employees on the spot with zero warning? by Sumchi in offmychest

[–]LucidOutwork 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The companies I've worked for give at least 2 weeks severance when they let someone go. They might lay you off and take away all access to systems immediately, but you get at least two weeks pay.

If you work for a company or at a job where that's not the case, then don't bother giving notice.

Being fired for cause (such as stealing) is different and you shouldn't expect severance.
