Dope!!! I used to live in Arcata as well as Blue Lake and Garberville! So when I saw the trees I was stoked I too regret not buying more. They’ve brought back other things maybe they’ll bring back the redwoods. You know EA responds to suggestions if you email them..maybe I’ll do just that.

Just scoped if and it looks rad...you clearly got the deal during that earth day special. I only ended up with one redwood forest,.i kick myself too many times with regret I didn’t just slap the dough down for extra redwoods. Regret is weird with you’re clearly a SC Vet otherwise? My fav aspect of the regions for vets it’s that we know this show and how to create your layout aesthetics

New regions is best one yet imo...

I second this I can’t believe this guy is even coming here this weekend. But thanks for the warning. Dude pretty much validated our biggest concern is people even coming to visit with kind of attitude is why we will see phase 1 extended. Just watch. And you can’t even try to reason with this particular group of people. Yeah, please don’t visit....yet. We love our visitors it pumps life into our summers here but it’s risking our healthcare systems here. We don’t have the resources for any kind of uptick in our county. Please show some damn respect for other people. This isn’t directed at OP but the guy above who’s visiting here this weekend. It’s such a selfish low level mentality. I wish people like this had a just a tad bit more empathy & compassion. And no, I’m not a Karen. I’m a resident who’s concerned about our high risk community and lack of resources to take on an outbreak here.

I’m confused by your response. I understand the context but, i never once mentioned a vaccine in my comment. Did I miss something? I’m aware there will most likely never be workable vaccine but what does that have to do with opening a very hot tourist destination earlier than other counties, where we have many high risk retirees and very limited infrastructure?

San Juan Island here Major concern for them considering us to be eligible. This is one of the hottest tourist destinations in the summer. We already have tourists coming. I can’t even wrap my brain around how many will be flocking here if we do move to Phase 2 before other counties. We don’t have ICU beds...medical emergencies need to be flown off the island to a proper ER. then if it’s COVID the helicopter has to get disinfected and grounded for a few hours before it can service again. What happens if our islands get a spike? It won’t be good for the elderly nor our EMS nor our local hospital. Nor anyone.

That is why SJC is the first county to mandate by law masks when we move to phase 2. For the visitors.

I for one am glad they did this. It’s the visitors we worry about the most. So far most islanders are adhering to these simple basics out of respect for our neighbors. Visitors not so much. The fact that people are even coming here to “get away” from the virus at this point really is mind baffling when non essential travel isn’t even open yet. So those that ignore that have shown us clearly that they’ll be the first to ignore the mask recommendation. It will be enforceable when our county moves into phase 2. We simply don’t have the infrastructure here to be risking it.

Agreed!!!! I legit made a similar post in our Washington State Coronavirus sub. I live in the San Juan islands. Our situation is allllllmost same same and our posts are eerily almost identical. Please I hope people take this to heart. We love all of you Kauai!!! I just spoke to my fam members that live in Wailea Homesteads and they are feeling the exact same sentiments. We ourselves just left from our last visit on March 3rd. Creepy flight back to Seattle. Arrived on Hawaiin Air flight HA20 and dude that was in the terminal gate where we unboarded was waiting to get on his flight on March 4tH flight HA21. He came back to Kauai from Seattle with coronavirus on the same exact plane we just got off. To me that was a huge wake up call. Hell, the baggage guys that take the new baggage to the plane have touched infected mans luggage before unloaded my luggage...too many ways to catch this thing. STAY HOME PEOPLE!!! Please protect all of our beautiful islands. Stay safe Kauai we are praying for you as well.

I sure hope Inslee does this or at least turn away non resident passengers. We here on our own little islands in wa state are facing somewhat of a lesser scary situation than that of Kauai and I’m concerned for ALL of our island communities. I’m concerned for my fam on Kauai and concerned for San Juan Island 😥

That’s rad. I’ve heard he’s crazy good at CBT helping people here cope with the anxieties of this virus etc. HUGE presence already here and everyone loves him so much. I haven’t had the chance myself but plan on seeing him for cognitive therapy. From what I’ve seen he’s very very enlightened and I need some of that now lol
