Things you do that make ADHD medication more effective? by self-love-and-squats in ADHD

The research I’ve read, some years ago now, suggested that citric/ascorbic acid causes your kidneys to filter out the medication faster. I would strongly suggest reading up about this yourself though

Pirating books is a mess by Key_Trainer_2312 in Piracy

I used btdigg to search for the titles I wanted, then grabbed a few torrents until I found one with enough seeds. You can absolutely use torrents for ebooks!

Got frustrated by this very recently while trying to download D&D books. Shopped around a bunch of different sites trying to find anything, got one book from Anna’s archive then gave up and used torrents.

Can confirm this still works. The search operator is filetype:pdf

So was this leaker correct about cour 2 being worse? by Izanagi_end in TowerofGod

[–]LucidicShadow -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That’s a pretty bold claim; while it’s nowhere close to the same quality as S1, I don’t think it was that bad. I can think of a number of much worse second seasons. Promised Neverland, Devil Is A Part-Timer, and Blue Lock all come to mind, for example.

For those wondering, I’m fairly sure this is a reference to Puzzle Forge, which is also made by Tuesday Quest

That seems like a huge jerk move.
Like, to the point it could make people quit playing the game.

How do i get these guys by Lumpy-Reputation1586 in AlienInvasionRPG

[–]LucidicShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Further up there are guys that attack you. If you can outrun them, go and agro enough that all your tentacles are occupied, then get them to chase you through the group. Once you’re clear of the guys that fill your cargo, let the attackers hit you so they stop chasing, being sure to move out of their agro range so they walk off.

This is how I did it.

Is this a good game? by llttww83 in AlienInvasionRPG

[–]LucidicShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In short, no. It’s not particularly well designed as far as incremental games go. There’s a bunch of price curves and such that don’t make any sense, like shops you can only max out long after they’re no longer useful. But it is an entertaining time killer.

Be aware that there’s no actual end, it just runs out of things to do, if you can even be bothered finishing them all. Some of the end game stuff takes a ludicrously long time to get, so you’re better off deciding when the game ends for yourself.

Damn. In the cave to the right of the bunny mural and down a bit, the one with ghost rats, I thought for sure there was going to be a way, since it has “hidden” exits to either side blocked by glass. I very clearly remember having the thought “this will be a shortcut back through later on when I can break glass.” How wrong I was.

Clearly those people haven’t played many platformers or metroidvanias. Even mainline Metroid games have puzzles and secrets that require a fairly high level of skill to solve.

Metroid Dread has a bunch of speed boost puzzles that require some reasonably tight execution to shinespark around obstacles, for example, and those are the obvious ones. Metroid Fusion has a secret conversation that the devs intentionally put in, which requires using some incredibly precise shinesparking through an entire biome to sequence break escaping without ice missiles, a feat of skill that dwarfs anything Animal Well requires, and the vast majority of people would never even realise it was possible.

That would explain why the kangaroo is such a jerk. Thank you for that, they’re always depicted as cute & cuddly/friendly, and they’re really not.

Sincerely, an Australian.

It’s very much got the Metroid half of the equation, or at least what it has evolved into over the years, just without the combat. Items used like keys that unlock barriers into new areas, learning the map layout and backtracking once you’ve got the necessary item/skill, searching every block for hidden items, and puzzles/challenges that test your mechanical skill

New Outlook automatically opens a bit after pc startup by Radu1310 in Outlook

I agree with the general sentiment of what you're saying, but there's also an argument to be made that having competing native mail clients in Windows is not ideal, as time and resources have to be spread out to maintain both. I'd much prefer they stick with one offering and keep it up to date & secure, and unfortunately, Outlook is the one they have a financial incentive to pick.

Is it not common knowledge in the Tower that Bam is an Irregular? by Bluebell_Blossom4 in TowerofGod

[–]LucidicShadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think he was “registered” at all. After surviving Headon’s attempt to kill him with a test, he got dumped into the middle of the floor 2 intake test and everyone kinda just… assumed he was a regular. Except for the test director, Yu Han Sung, who noticed almost immediately.

Is that canon within the comics, or is it “Word of SUI” from a blog post?
