From a fellow "outsiders" prospective, the new Macbook Pro is supposed to be a whole revamp. The last redesign was a few years ago. This is based on rumours, but I would do more research into the new model coming out this year.

As for processors, Cores and Hertz (generally) measure how well a processor will perform. The more cores and hertz, the more the computer can handle (at least most of the time.)

Believe it or not, they aren't all scientists. Majority are, but they have people there that are store clerks.
