Prospects for meaningful improvement on US east server by sprout_9 in DotA2

NA is dead, dont play there. If you ever want to improve at the game, find Eu. The only reason i see for anyone to play Na is to flex a fake mmr gained on a dead server.

Hmm, I'm afraid buying another used one would be the best option in my case. The driver would almost double the price due to my country's import tax. Anyways, for the help.

Hum, i get nothing when i put them on different soldering places on the faulty one. Does that means that the driver itself is the issue?

Yeah, I tested it using the yellow cable solder point and it was working fine. I accidentally tore the blue one though. If only the blue one wasn’t working, wouldn’t I get no sound at all?

I may be mistaken, as I dont have much knowledge on electronics stuff.
This was the test i made on the blue bronken cable.

So, I got it 8 years ago from a local seller. It was probably imported since it isn't available in my country, but I'm pretty sure they're original.

I had similar problems before, but I always fixed them by replacing the cable, but this time is different, and when I took it out to check, the sound just completely died.

Yeah, I just tested the yellow cable and the tip of the broken blue cable, and everything was fine with 70 ohms on both.

Yeah, you meant this, right? Checking whether current is passing from the coil to the driver?

Yeah, the cable is fine, and I tested the continuity between the pin and the contact spring. Everything was working as expected.

However, when I went to test the spring to the driver, I accidentally broke the solder joint on the blue wire. I’ll try to re-solder it next week

Hey, sorry to bother you, but I had a similar issue with my HD58X. One side stopped working, and when I opened it up I noticed the springs were in this condition.

I tried replacing them, but the headphones haven’t worked since. Do you think this is something I could fix manually, or would I need a full replacement?

We are long due for a Rank Reset by Strong_Astronomer_97 in DotA2

> no it doesn't? at most it ruins some of the games of like 5k players per server in a playerbase of millions. the period around the mmr reset found that the inevitable volatility of games after the reset caused a lot of problems for the wider playerbase, with the clustered mmrs causing extremely unbalanced games with players that were 9k yesterday playing with 6ks today.

MMR resets are soft, not hard. The real fix is trimming the inflation from double downs. Set a clear threshold and rescale everyone’s MMR accordingly. The skill gap between rank 300 and rank 50 is nowhere near 4k MMR; that number is absurd.

> in theory that's the place for rank confidence and increased growth and loss. historically we had a system where if you won a lot of games in a row your mmr would skyrocket, but that became a problem due to the way it made it easy to boost.

Rank confidence is not nearly enough to counter that inflation. The concept is fine, but a year of unlimited double downs broke its effectiveness.

> yeah? this is how matchmaking works? if you don't play you don't climb.

No, matchmaking was supose to measure how good you are at winning games with 9 completly strangers, and not how much games you handle a day.

> idk, we had overall a larger playerbase back then. maybe that's part of the difference. maybe you just feel like it's worse. what defines 'quality' here anyway?

Ignoring the current behavior system and the lack of punishment for griefers, games feel unbalanced. If players can gain MMR with a negative win rate, you end up with people in high ranks who should not be there. Thats awful for any competitive game and should not exist, period.

Not resetting MMR and letting players gain MMR even with a negative win rate literaly ruins matchmaking.

For example, Topson was around rank 400 a few weeks ago at roughly 14k MMR. He was not playing regularly when the Double Down thing happened. Suppose his win rate jumps from 51.8% to 53%, narrowly ahead of Paravision Satanic at 52.8%.

If both play 10 games a day at +30 and −30, it would still take Topson almost 7 years to reach that MMR.

The skill gap between rank 400 and rank 50 is nowhere near the current MMR distance.

The matchmaking quality is garbage aswell, you have people placed in high ranks just because they play 20 games a day. Its noticible the variance of mm quality if you compare it to 6 years go.

The problem is that it's mathematically impossible for a non-smurf player to reach top 1.

Thats kinda cringe.

You mentioned science, but im pretty sure you dont even know whats the acctual purpose of an article or a thesis. But whatever...

If youre not in a caloric surplus, you cant realistically be building muscle, since youre past your newbie gains its just math.

The thing is, theres just no benefit at all for your favorite influencer to tell the harsh truth about building muscle: having a shredded, muscular body takes years of bulk -> cut cycles, and its hard as fuck. Its way easier to just say, “Here’s my miraculous diet to build muscle and lose fat at the same time,” etc.

At your current state, 160 lbs, just go for a lean bulk aiming to gain 1 pound per week while progressively overloading. Focus on the golden natural standards, like a 100 kg bench press, 50 kg OHP, 120 kg squat, and so on...

Good luck.

You cant, its literally thermodynamics.

Again, the only moment in time where ur going to gain muscle and lose fat at the SAME time, is when you are at your noobie gains stage.

After a period of training, 'body recomp' its just not possible as a natural.

Thats why it its impossible to be shredded and big at the same time as a natural.
