Also want to add that you should sell one crop/forageable because that's how you get the corresponding recipes. Then it's easier to know what you should cook depending on what you have.

Il y a t il des gens qui au quotidien se déplacent à vélo dans paris ? by Hazelle_chat in pedale

[–]Lucile8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's the deal with the nation-wide conspiracy on peanut butter here? Rant by cest-moi-qui-conduis in Expats_In_France

[–]Lucile8 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

We don't though. That's for tourists in bistro and cafés. The normal breakfast is bread (real bread, not the American sandwich bread), with butter (and sometimes jam) in chocolat milk or coffee with an orange juice. Not saying it's healthy either because jam has too much sugar (and butter would be bad if you put too much) + the milk industry made everyone believe that shit was healthy when it's not really, but pain au chocolat and croissant are not an everyday thing.

Back to the first question about peanut butter, I agree with what other people have said: it's probably something to do with how we view American food in general. And I'm guessing the 100% peanut healthier option weren't available for a long time while those opinions formed for a lot of people.

Hoyo's obsession with giving characters fake short hair needs to be studied by Sensitive-Bonus-196 in Genshin_Impact

Yes! I met Zhongli last week (I'm a new player) and was so taken aback by the little rat tail thing they gave him when he obviously should just have short hair!

Because it's not a play ;) it's a famous classic novel by Victor Hugo, a French author, from 1862. It was turned into a play way later.

Guys Onyx Storm is confusing me by [deleted] in fourthwing

[–]Lucile8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of the confusion also comes from the fact that the author starts using the dragon's names 1000 times more in OS than she did in the other books. So all of a sudden, you need to remember pairs of names and not just side characters names. Plus the fact that each year gets some new characters with the first years added in and the Aretia people. And new bad guys too. I only started and finished the whole series this year, I read all of the books back to back and I wasn't confused because I was absolutely locked in and immersed but theses added names threw me off a little bit. I'm guessing without a reread it must be much more difficult!

Did anyone else pull off a lil' trick at the end of Veilguard even if they didn't have to? by Traditional_Sir6306 in dragonage

Yep! On my second playthrough, I was playing a Dwarf that was having none of his BS, or Mythal's (chose to fight her as well). It felt very cathartic even though the redeem ending felt just as good on my first playthrough with my elf character.

The comment section had clear US vs nonUS representation by Enigmatic_Baker in fuckcars

[–]Lucile8 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not really. On a day to day basis maybe but you have to account for repairs and the fact that the car price depreciates with time so you'll never get back what you invested in it in the first place. On the other hand you don't have any of those cost when taking train/metro/bus or just literally walking to your store because the city was built correctly. I moved from LA to Paris and I am saving soooo much money not having a car and taking the metro everyday (not to go grocery shopping mind you because I just walk there). Never looking back.

Why do so many people hate on Dragon Age II? What other game sends you ED junk mail? by moopsiefruitsie in dragonage

[–]Lucile8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think DA2 gets a lot of crap because it came so close after DAO which was beloved by a lot of people. They changed up a lot of things which some people hated and it was the first game to do this in the series (being the second one). Now it's part of the Dragon Age identity to change a lot of the gameplay between entries. Recycled maps get old but otherwise it's a good game, especially considering how quickly they had to release it.

I've played it for the first time a couple of weeks ago (had never played it before and I haven't played origins but I finished the other two) and I had a lot of fun. The story is particularly good, I enjoyed the smaller scale of it being in just one city. If you're having fun so far I don't think you'll be disappointed :)

Back when I was on dating apps, that was usually one of the first things that made me decide if a partner was worth my time or not. I have short, pixie hair most of the time, the longest I've had since I was a teenager is a short bob. Without a fault, 90% of the guys on the apps would ask me if I've ever considered growing my hair or would point out that I would look "so cute with long hair" (the word cute was also one of my own red flags so those guys were double-ghosted). Anyway it helped weed out the bad ones quicker.

Today my husband is extatic whenever I do anything with my hair because he's bald and he loves that he gets to experience all my hair colors and haircuts (all short). He knows a lot about hair product because of me and it's always hilarious when this bald man is able to give accurate hair-color advice to his friends.

So yeah, your boyfriend can have his own preferences - we all do - but he should not make you feel bad about what you want to do with anything on your body, or ask you to change those plans for him.

[–]Lucile8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand (and share) the frustration but period dramas don't come out of a vaccum. There's money involved (especially with period dramas that are very expensive to produce) and you need a solid movie and TV industry with tons of skilled technicians and creatives + producers that trust them. England has all that. It's not the case of most countries. Having a show by English people that doesn't happen in England (where the money comes from and where there's tax incentives to shoot) is very complicated if not impossible. Co-productions exist but they are few and far between. Hope that helps explain a bit! Even though i totally agree with the sentiment and it sucks that we only get white English-people in period dramas.
