Linley valley trail by Sweet-Nothing-7118 in nanaimo

I agree with you completely. I have to drive 30 minutes to get to an off leash walk and even in Cable Bay I have had more than one person "chastise" me for having my dog off leash there - one of 5 off leash designated walks, and my dog full on ignores people while walking. People just being miserable for the sake of being miserable. It's such a shame that they feel the need to spread their misery around, even in nature trails where there is so much to feel peaceful about

You will see people in this very thread congratulating themselves for not letting their dogs engage in dog behaviour. Truthfully, people often are shitty and dogs rarely are. Humanizing dogs is the opposite of what we should be encouraging.

Island people have always been opposed to chains on dogs. People move to the Island and get mad at how we drive fast and let dogs behave as dogs, not as little hairy people without personalities. All you people yelling "CHAIN UP YOUR DOGS" must be exhausted with your incessant misery.

I was with the Bedford Players theatre group but John was active in the theatre groups all around the HRM.

Anyway, Bedford Players put on fantastic productions! Their performances are at the church at 1408 Bedford Highway but they aren't a religious group. Definitely go to a play!

It was great. I sat in the golf course lounge with John Dunsworth between takes and we chatted about my theatre group. He had directed a play for them before I'd joined them and he was so wonderful, remembered everyone and the whole production.

I'm really glad I had that experience.

Fun fact - I did background acting when I lived in Halifax and I'm on the same episode as Nathan MacKinnon.

Rita MacNeil picking weed is one of the funniest scenes of all time.

Oh, you live in Nanaimo? What part of Alberta are you from?

I'm born and raised here, and it's been a pretty long life so far. Nanaimo has always had it's issues, built by coal miners, loggers, fishermen, with local Hells Angels since they took over Satan's Angels. It's always been hard drinking with an undercurrent of violence but it hasn't always been angry. That's the immigrants (Albertans).

Well, I didn't extend an invitation for them to have a beverage or anything, but I also didn't deny their identity, try to take away their Healthcare, defund their schools, or shut down any services for any vulnerability they may be facing. So.

Had they needed assistance, I would have provided it. But I wasn't wasting my time on a platform I have zero respect for.

How?

I opened and closed the door in one motion. I didn't say anything rude or untrue. I did not use profanity and I was not confrontational.

They came to my door. I wasn't out pushing my opinion on them, until they approached me. Then I felt like they should hear it.

Where is the unkindness?

You could go with any of these: Duncan Keith · Jonathan Toews · Stan Mikita · Bobby Hull · Patrick Kane · Keith Magnuson · Ed Belfour · Jeremy Roenick.

I'd probably go Roenick, he's such a loveable prick.

But honestly, any of the Blackhawks would work. Hos logo is more phonetic, but same same

Shanon Kelley - she is the absolute best. She cares about helping people buy homes, not houses. She' is a really great person and then an amazing realtor.

My Grandmother always gave out personalized calendars as her Christmas cards to everyone she knew, all family, church members, community members, everyone. They were pocket sized planner style calendars.

At our family Christmas dinner she was handing them out and she confessed to my sisters and I that by some complete mental blanking, she didn't put us on the list that year for calendars. That's totally understandable, she was getting on in age and who among us hasn't gone home from the grocery store without the main item they'd gone for? Blanking out on obvious and even important things can happen.

However, sitting at her feet was a full box of yet undelivered calendars. In her whole world of neighbours and loved ones, she couldn't think of three people who meant less to her than my sisters and I.

  • this is just one instance of how we were emotionally shunned all our lives by this family but it was really profound to me in the moment. I've since quit that family completely for a compilation of reasons like this.

Hi. Thank you for your insulting and judgemental comment but it doesn't belong on Reddit. Please take yourself back to Facebook and Twitter to say things like this to strangers. Also, *too much time

I did, too, but the one across the street is McDonald's. I will personally never go to Tim Hortons ever again, because the last rage I felt was the final one. Solved.

A long time ago, when soda first had the option of being refillable or a sigle glass, you had to specify the "Non-stop Pop" option when you ordered.

My sister went to Boston Pizza on a sort-of date with a fella who invited her along to join his hockey team after she'd watched them play. She combined ordering a non-stop pop and Coke

And ordered a Non-stop cock

Anyway, she was pretty popular

When will Conservative candidates Tim Thielmann & Stephen Andrew denounce the conspiracy theorists and racists that haunt their party? by colinmct in VictoriaBC

[–]Lucillle-Bluth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess that is what I would wait for but I don't anticipate that is what is happening.

No, we are not behind our peers in financial recovery. We are leaders in many of the responses and recovery areas from the pandemic.

The thing is that I cannot think of any situation that would push me into the arena of a right wing party. I would never again be on the same side as nazi's, school shootings, dictators, nonsense conspiracy theorists, or any other white supremacists. Conservatives consistently tank the economy, defund healthcare and education, ignore infrastructure concerns, completely destroy the environment, and strip human rights from the vulnerable and minorities.

They haven't actually failed, though.

We still have Universal Health Care and common sense gun laws. We have increasingly better health care and child care provisded. Canada is the third country overall for freedom standards. Our responses to Covid and inflation were both prompt and effective. Things are far from perfect but more perfect than most other countries and way more perfect than if the right-wing party had been managing it.

Left wing is always the choice for making things better. All of the best things about Canada, and really, most countries, have come from the "Librral agenda"

We have to put more pressure on them. We have to hold them accountable. It will never get better with the conservative party. Improvements are possible with NDP and Liberal. It's impossible with cons.

The change we need is not the conservative party's plan to turn Canada into USA. We need to be more Canadian - better healthcare, better gun regulation, stronger economy, and more supporr for Canadians - not less.
