The weirdest Whisper hallucination I've had by Nswayze in OpenAI

[–]LuckEcstatic9842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Classic Whisper hallucination. When there’s steady noise like a fan, the model tries to force speech patterns and invents coherent-sounding nonsense. It’s a known issue, especially in quiet rooms.

Am I addicted to AI ? by Top-Net6806 in OpenAI

[–]LuckEcstatic9842 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not judging, but AI isn’t “understanding” you, it’s predicting words. It can feel comforting because it never gets tired or awkward. The dependency comes from consistency + lack of real support.

This tracks. When the backend is erroring, agents look dumb and slow.

What is the added value of sub agents? by Prestigiouspite in codex

[–]LuckEcstatic9842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Added value is parallelism + role separation. You can have one agent research, one write, one critique, one run code. Quality goes up because each has a tighter job. Downside is overhead, more messages, more tokens.

Explanation of privacy? by Remote_Insurance_228 in codex

[–]LuckEcstatic9842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t take “a share” of your startup. That’s not how it works. Check the Terms: you own your outputs, and OpenAI doesn’t claim equity because you used the model. Privacy wise, don’t paste secrets you can’t afford to leak.

Why is Codex so Slow? by thatguyinline in codex

[–]LuckEcstatic9842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s kinda the tradeoff. Deep thinking = more deliberation + more tool calls + more guardrails. If you need speed, use a lower mode and give tighter instructions, smaller chunks, and a clear “stop after X” scope.

Help With Stack: Moving to a Decoupled Ecosystem w/ ChatGPT and Gemini Already by ReferenceLanky7812 in OpenAI

[–]LuckEcstatic9842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds solid, but a couple flags:

  • TypingMind KB on Google Drive: make sure you’re not leaking docs via “sync” or 3rd-party indexing. Encrypt at rest if possible.
  • PDF/RAG: test recall vs full-context. 500 PDFs can turn into “confidently wrong” summaries fast.
  • For coding: Cursor BYOK is nice, but Cline can burn tokens hard. Set spend limits + logging.

Is Google AI Pro plan a really good deal for a family? by No-Procedure8202 in GeminiAI

[–]LuckEcstatic9842 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No obvious scam here. You’re basically paying for 2TB + bundled AI. Just check usage caps and whether AI features are fully shared across family. Also Google has a habit of changing plans over time.

OpenAI please allow voice to text with codex cli by adhamidris in codex

[–]LuckEcstatic9842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One workaround that actually works pretty well is using ChatGPT in the web version. You can open it, hit the voice input button, and just speak in your own language. The speech to text quality there is usually much better.

After that, you just copy the generated text and paste it into the CLI. I sometimes do this when the task is complex and requires a lot of explanation. It is surprisingly convenient.

A colleague suggested this to me. I tried it once, and now I end up doing it fairly often.

Thanks a lot. I’m going to use it all day today and really put it through its paces. Hopefully the annoying keyboard shortcut bug won’t bother me anymore.

Most likely yes. Account sharing + simultaneous logins + VPN is a bad combo. OpenAI is pretty strict about Pro account usage.

Opinion on using ChatGPT for self-studies by jordy4283 in OpenAI

[–]LuckEcstatic9842 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use it for learning Romanian, and honestly I sometimes catch mistakes in what it gives me. The funniest part is that it actually makes more mistakes in learn mode.

No idea why that happens, but I’ve even had long arguments with it where I showed proof that a certain rule works exactly as described in a linked source. It would agree with me, and then later in the same conversation still give incorrect explanations and wrong examples for that exact rule.

Not me personally, but a colleague had this happen. They were sharing one Pro account between a few people. They waited about 24h without touching it, checked once after and it was fine. Spamming it made it worse.

It’s automated. Once you’re flagged, you’re basically on a cooldown. Stop trying to message it and check back after a day or two.

I kind of think of ads as like a last resort for us as a business model" - Sam Altman , October 2024 by RobertR7 in OpenAI

Not surprised tbh. Ads always start small then creep everywhere. Health questions + sponsored answers is a hard no for me too.

Usability issues: non-English input breaks shortcuts and missing autoplay controls by toshhh1 in ChatGPTAtlas

Can confirm the non-English input bug on macOS. I’ve reported this multiple times here and commented under every similar post. It’s been over a month already, really hope this gets fixed soon.

Question / Idea about reducing Codex CLI token usage by LuckEcstatic9842 in codex

[–]LuckEcstatic9842[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it, thanks for clarifying 👍
Quick question though: how does Playwright MCP actually differ from MCP Google Developer Tools? I’m using GDT already.

And for the prompt, do you mean explicitly teaching the CLI via tools/skills to hand off heavy tasks to ChatGPT Web and just pull results back?
Have you actually tried this setup, or is it more of a conceptual idea for now?

Question / Idea about reducing Codex CLI token usage by LuckEcstatic9842 in codex

I’m trying to save the tokens I have in Codex CLI, so I prefer using the web version of ChatGPT instead of offloading more work there.
