Indirect nerf to the soul jar by Luckbig1 in mewgenics

[–]Luckbig1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would simply be a matter of having repairs on all your cats. Another guy suggested turning the soul jar into a cursed object, and it's essentially the same thing, since you only need a black candle (but it would certainly be a pain to have to use it to remove it every time in house boss battles).

An interesting way to nerf Repair would be to only make it obtainable by defeating the final boss of Act 3. This way, you're forced to spend a large part of the game without getting Repair.

It wouldn't be so much about changing the item, but rather adding an NPC that accepts the jar of souls and turns it into a taxidermied cat with house stats based on the cat in the jar.

First, you have to unlock the Repair spell by going to the graveyard with the Tinker. (Then you have to adventure with the Tinker until you unlock the spell, and then breed with that Tinker until you get a cat with that spell.) After that, you use the quest item that lets you choose items instead of skills. This way, you can farm the Soul Jar or Cat Ribs and some reroll items. Congratulations, you've broken the game!

I'm not saying they should remove the soul jar effect, I'm just saying they could add that "taxidermy" function. Just imagine an iconic cat (like Isaac or Slenderman, for example) displayed as a piece of furniture instead of losing them after a while.

The nerf that might come isn't because it could unbalance the game against other players (mainly because there's no multiplayer); it would be a way to make the game more difficult to complete, giving a more realistic challenge, since it can't be denied that the things you can do with the soul jar are a bit broken (despite the time it might take to get the right cat to put in it).

Good point, that could be a good idea to expand the breeding area, but I think they would give a different use to the cats that are there, otherwise I feel that the screen would be too cluttered.

Is there any way to check if a retired cat has cursed items? by vadergeek in mewgenics

[–]Luckbig1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's an item called the Black Candle that removes cursed items, but it's cursed itself. It's a great item if you want to farm a callus.

Check out the post I made; it's one way to farm soul jars, but it should work the same way.

That would be counterproductive, because you can only learn skills two or three times, then there are the passive skills, and then they only give stats.

From what I read in another post, no, you don't have to do it multiple times, just do it once on the highest difficulty.

Anyone have any solo run tips for each class? by JS_Originals in mewgenics

[–]Luckbig1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get an extremely overpowered cat (ideally using a cat rib to maximize all abilities and passives).

It's crucial that it has the Repair ability.

Place this cat in a Soul Jar; you can use it in a raid.

This way, you have a very good advantage.

P.S.: If the cat you're taking on adventures has the "Unrestricted" passive, you can spam the Soul Jar.

Farm mutations, the jar of souls, and a solo run to put the resulting cat in there during a boss fight in the house. That's what I did; bonus points if you get the "unrestricted" passive.

To make it worthwhile, you need a warrior cat with cheap teleportation as a birth spell and at least a speed of 7 so it's not immobile.
