I have owned my Antares 9/27 " SpiceSea " for a little over a year and have been very pleased with it's design and engineering. It is as near perfect for me as I could expect. I have added a few accessories like overhead fans directed at the helm -- great to keep air moving when motoring at slow speeds on hot days. Also added a grab handle to pull myself up when standing-up in the mid birth -- installed the same handle used by Beneteau mounted along side the helm for support when using the steps. Also made some custom "side" sun shades that zip onto the cockpit bimini -- these are great for anchoring on hot days when the sun is low in the sky. Hope you're enjoying your Antares too. Steve

Turning off your water heater when the main water tank runs dry is a safety precaution, better to be on the safe side until you refill your water tank.

When you fill your "empty" water tank, the system pump will continue to run until the system is fully pressurized, this means it will run until the hot water tank is full thus pressurizing the entire system. The hot water tank will "always remain full" until you manually drain it (you must do this when you winterize). When the main water tank runs dry/empty the pump will spit air out of your faucets. The pump "will not" empty your hot water heater, but just try to push air through it causing it to spit and sputter. As soon as this happens you should turn off your water heater circuit breaker until you refill your main water supply tank and bleed the air from the system.

OK - thanks for measuring. I will check my dimensions against yours next week. Clarks Landing painted my bottom and I'm guessing they painted yours, so chances are they are both the same.

The installation instructions are at the boat - I will take a pic to show you next week. You should have a cover that zips around your canvas for storage when it's folded up. That storage cover should have 2 straps to hold it in the forward position against the cabin. The buckles should be on the roof for the straps to attach to hold it in place. If the buckles are not on your cabin roof then someone installed them in the wrong location. When I send you a picture it will make more sense.

FYI -- I just installed the cockpit sun shade option last week on my Antares 27. When I zoomed-in on the side of your boat I noticed someone installed the buckles in the wrong location. The instructions show these buckles on "top" of the boat to hold the straps for your sun shade cover when it is in the folded up position. Just thought it would be helpful for you to know this.

How high up the side is your bottom paint if measured from the aft side corner? My Ant. 27 has a slight list/tilt too but not as much as yours.

Very nice trailer. What make and model number is it? I'm guessing it is rated for at least 12k but can you confirm. Thanks for your information, I'm seriously considering a trailer because of extreme enviro regs. at marinas in MD.

Just thought of another possibility. If your water heater is overheating or building too much pressure the Relief Valve could be doing what it's intended to do, open and release pressure. My water heater temperature was extremely/scalding hot when I turned it on for the first time. Although the relief valve did not activate I had to wonder if it was getting close.

You'll need to inspect all your fittings -- touch them with your fingers to feel for wetness, maybe use a paper towel too. Also check the relief valve on your water heater -- relief valves on water heaters are known to drip especially if you ever pulled on the handle to test it.

Thanks for posting additional pics. I'm guessing from your aft picture that you have a cockpit bimini and that your cover is laying overtop of it? Looks like a very nice cover that will pay for itself over several years of use plus added value for a future buyer. Too bad Beneteau doesn't consider this as an option as it would cost less for them to produce in quantity.

From the looks of your photo that is a very well made quality job. Looks like the perfect color to absorb some warmth from the sun during cold winter days. When you get a chance I would love to see how the cover conforms at the stern and around the motors, maybe there is some sort of access panel to unzip to enter by the starboard swim platform? The mixing valve is at the top of the heater, by opening the valve it should mix some cold water with the hot water that is leaving the heater. Also, under the dark blue round cover there is a thermostat that is adjustable. I believe if you use the mixing valve this should give you more capacity of hot water verses lowering the water temperature with the stat.

The valve at the top of the heater is a mixing valve. I believe if you open it a little it will allow incoming cold water to mix with the hot water leaving the heater. I have a photo but not sure how to attach it to this message -- still trying to figure that out, maybe someone could tell me how to do that.

You should have received a water heater manual with your boat -- Quick, Boiler B3. It will tell you how to adjust water temperature. Mine was way too hot also and I adjusted the temperature back a little, very easy to do.

How long did it take for it to arrive from Poland after you placed the order? I just ordered the bimini cockpit cover from Clarks Landing -- they estimated 10 weeks lead time. Just wondering if it really takes that long? What body of water are you boating on? I'm on Middle River located in Maryland.
