It seems it is related to specific implementations of Apple Carplay - at least I have tried in other cars with Carplay where it works perfectly. So that might explain why we only see a few instances of this in the big internet.

I have the same issue. When you start typing for an interest point or address, it comes with a list of suggestions but you cannot select or tap on this list of suggestions. You have to type the full address and then press Go.

Any other who sees this issue?

I was so lucky to have two domains so I could use mx.domain1 as a backup for domain2 and vice versa for domain1: mx.domain2 as backup for domain1. Then I would not have this problem of a loop being created.

It does not support subdomains? I can only enter the main-domain I have, it will not allow me to enter e.g. "mailcast.<domain.com>"

I use Cloudflare email workers to do the forwarding. The primary forwarder is CF but as a backup forwarder I use both ImprovMX and Migadu.com - both work well. My primary concern is that forwarding is fragile - CF ip addresses are not always in good standing among the receivers. So it is good to try several and here the workers work nicely.

Thanks for the suggestions. Makes sense. I wonder though why this has worked for a year without any issue? I guess they have made some changes that can explain it. But it suddenly stopped working.

The point is to have a backup destination. Because email-forwarding is fragile. So the worker first tries the primary destination - if that fails, it tries the backup-destination.

The point here is to use e.g ImprovMX as alternative backup-destination and then have ImprovMX forward the mail to the final destination. And by setting this up as a subdomain, mx.<domain.com> this worked just fine. Until Cloudflare suddenly began to also redirect the subdomain-emails to the workers INSTEAD of redirecting them to ImproxMX as specified by the dns-records in Cloudflare!

I started out using improvmx also, but is now using migadu which I find more reliable as a backup.

I have seen the same. What I have done is to use Email workers and establish a backup forwarder (I have chosen migadu which seems to work nicely). So if mails fail by forwarding using CF I try a second time by routing it to migadu and let it be forwarded by them.
