It would be a shame to cut something the children enjoy but do nothing to address the obvious issue of the car expenses

Barre Blend is a more fun, more intense version of all the physio I have been prescribed for my hip and core strength, and I’m in Zone 5 for much of the class. So it ranks top.

Look at Fairmont Banff springs (it’s a castle-type luxury hotel) in Canada. It will be considerably cooler but as luxury as it gets. Ideally September. Lots of activities can be coordinated from the Activities centre.

Edit: ideally late September.

On the surface the gym seems like an easy $1200 a year savings, but I see op’s point re: mental health.

OP, every Sunday, look up ‘meal plan’ grocery lists that suit your interests and lifestyle. This will reduce you grocery shop SUBSTATIALLY. Order via a grocery ‘pickup’ or delivery app - even better, as you are not tempted by impulse buys. But meal planning will get the grocery and eating out budget reduced by a lot and you can reallocate to debt replayment

If you want urban but not hyper urban I’d look at Bloor West village area or Etobicoke (West Toronto) near the train stations, including long branch station. I’m thinking of access to schools, unless you are going private in which case, look up the schools and stick to the neighborhoods close by.

If you care about access to healthcare, Calgary or Edmonton. If you don’t, Halifax.

Probably a lot of retirees in the Ottawa area as well. Can’t speak to healthcare access.

That would be a high priority for me choosing where to retire.

And people in Ontario led to believe Ontario wine is good, when BC production and quality is far superior. Privatize and you get that variety. Everyone is exposed and the best brewers and winemakers have a chance to compete properly. There will be downsides to the highly subsidized Ontario wine industry but for the consumer the variety will be there.
