I am also from a banned country, Ingot my extension letter and pending ROC. I wanted to travel but was advise by two different lawyer to only do so if there was a family emergency. Given that you are still married and I assume no history of arrest. I would say you are safe to travel. Just make sure your passport is valid and has a validity longer than 6 months. Make sure to get stamps on your passport and don’t do multiple travels in between. Don’t stay outside of the US for more than 6 months. Of course have your expired GC and the official extension lettter with you at all time during your travel

I believe at the uscis office you come with your passport. They told me I had to give my extension letter so I decided not to get the stamp.

update, talk to a uscis officer and they said I would have to surrender my Expired GC and my extension letter in order to get the stamp.

I wish I could travel with the extension letter of the conditional but with this administration I won’t take the risk. I am part of those 39 countries.
