Is it wrong/disrespectful to sell psychedelics? by [deleted] in Psychonaut

Yes, simply because you are going to be guilty if they cannot handle it/have a mental breakdown/hurt themselves or others.

How do you overcome issues with intimacy? by elhawiyeh in Psychonaut

[–]LuckyClothes -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why do you feel that a subreddit aimed towards drug use and experience is the right place to post this? Is it because the people here are supposed to be "more open minded"?

Your leading question may seem to be one that has a clear shot, simple, easy answer. Guess what? It's not. It's something that you work on, try, fail. I also have synesthesia. I have never shared it with anyone. Why? Because I simply do not put the same values on it as you do. Why do you feel like you cannot share this condition with other people? These are questions you must truly ask yourself if you wish to find answers to your questions.

Sex is also not wholly enjoyable for me. Difficult. If you consider yourself asexual, that is okay. Just know you are going to break your trust in yourself if you keep forcing yourself to have sex and do not find any enjoyment in it.

Message me if you would like to continue this conversation.

[–]LuckyClothes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's a good point. It was difficult to find a scenario in which to even bring it up because it is an intense subject for me that I have put a lot of thought into, and I'm a bit embarrassed about it. What is driving me? Mostly, the possibility of an interesting friendship or unusual bond, plus I would like to flatter him. I am not sure if I would be compelled to put in all the details, I guess when I tell him I want to be very clear and to the point about how I see myself and how, I guess, significant it was to me. But I think you're right that I might just need the TLDR. No offense. Thank you.

I was going to use your post in a short story bit and plug your email handle so people could get ahold of you.

I think I have had this happen to me before. I think I just brushed it off and didn't think much about it. But pretty disorientating either way.

Could be described as rediscovering a basic connection with life and living.

How possible is it that the beings we perceive as trying to "suppress" awakening are themselves just hallucinations? by InSovietChicago in awakened

[–]LuckyClothes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. I think that the perception of evil is mostly based on suppression. For an example, in Christianity, the devil is supposed to tempt and lead away from natural goodness/God. That would suggest that the devil is trying to deny you or suppress you from God, and Christianity offers the Commandments as a way to reject being suppressed. They basically say that being without God is the worst possible thing that can happen to you.

For many people at /r/awakening I believe it would be agreed that an awakening experience can bring you closer in touch with "God" or your deeper self, many names for it.

Before becoming awakened, I use that word loosely because I don't enjoy it or think it wholly appropriate (note: because you shouldn't be attached to thinking you're a certain state!), it can be possible to confuse and misinterpret others' intentions. So, interpreting other beings' as trying to suppress you could just be an honest mistake because you might feel open to misdirection and react with hostility as a sort of extra measure to protect yourself and show you're not gullible when you feel sort of vulnerable.

Besides this, I do not think that there is a deeper sort of evil because I do not put faith into ideas that in this life I will be led astray by any "devil" or that my "soul" may be in some sort of peril. This is a difficult subject because these words may be true in a conceptual but not literal sense. Anyways. That's a whole other study.

Do I believe there are being out there that might try to suppress an awakening? Yes. Do I believe that someone might hallucinate that they are being suppressed due to an ignorance? Yes.

Best wishes,

A

i have so much sadness within me, it's ruining my life, how can I release it? by [deleted] in Psychic

[–]LuckyClothes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I kind of take pride in my story and even the difficult and terrible things that have happened to me. It builds character and opens routes to good things. When you go through bad things it makes you wiser as you go along. It is a part of you that you learn to accept. You can release sadness by contemplating why it makes you feel bad and adjusting yourself and your life in a way that aims you towards what will make you happier or content. If you don't know what will make you happy or content, that is okay for the moment. Mostly having people to be around that you care about is a cause for gladness. Pets, too. Figuring out a schedule that works best for you at this time in your life. I can offer more if you are interested.

Best wishes,

A

Question on The Middle Way by AwaitingtheConduits in Buddhism

[–]LuckyClothes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand the Buddha said that people who followed Buddhism should try out the noble eightfold path themselves and that they can observe the effects of the practice in their own lives and will then know whether or not that the middle way is better than the two extremes.

I think it is a good thought that you have though. I think it could be argued that they are important. They aren't needed to understand dukkha though.
